I don't understand how a mother can have an abortion, it's so evil. Kids are so unique in every way and they are a blesing from Allah s.w.a look after them!!
“Whoever puts his trust in Allah, sufficient is Allah for him.”
Ahh, it's too easy for me to say no to abortion, as I'm not pregnant. Even if I were to be, I'm 26, and have a decent job. I'm not a 13 year old who has been gang raped, I'm not a 14 yr. old whose boyfriend has told her "You can't get pregnant the first time", I'm not a diabetic who may have to choose between her child's life and her own- literally. I'm also not my friend, whose husband tried to beat her into having a miscarriage- and nearly succeeded. I can say no to abortion for myself, but there are many other women without that luxury.

The link above gives details on abortion procedures, if anyone wants to know how it actually happens. I've accompanied women during the procedure, and I also visited the pathology lab, to view the aftermath, so I can tell you that what is listed at that link is what happens. Daffodil, please don't post such grievous inaccuracies.

Thank you for those loving and non-judgemental words!
Much as a hold life sacred and have never considered abortion myself, I cannot ever find it in myself to condemn those women who have to make such a choice!
I have no statistics on this, but I strongly believe that a majority of women who have abortions, do not do so lightly and without much soul-searching and heartache!
How much worse do we make their pain, when we then condemn them for it!
'Judge not, lest you be judged!'
Blessings,

i was refering to late term abortions, if u go onto anti abortion websites u will see what im talking about.
Well if I may, I beg to differ. I think you have more responsibility than just saying no. You have to also work to create a society where women do not feel they need to have an abortion - where every pregnancy is valued, where every potential life is treasured, where everyone understands the issues involved.

I totally agree!
Research in the US has shown that the abortion rates go down considerably, when the ecomonic situations for young mothers improve. Much more effective than damning those poor women to hell for feeling they have no choice other than abortion!
Having said that, presumably in a 'perfect' society (as Islam at it's best may be), no unwanted pregnancies would occur in the first place and young mothers woul have all the support they need.
