Salaam. after Ramadan fasts it follows with six days of fast in Shawwal, however is the starting of the six days fast meant to start the day after eid or is it second day after eid?I am questioning this as I had a discussion with one of my friends whose stated that when she went pakistan she got told by the imaam that after eid should be followed up by having one day for mela (I know this is wrong not that I practise it) and thereafter having two days break (eid day and mela day) one is allowed to fast then. Can someone give me some authentic sources as to where this is true or untrue?
subhanallahu, i didn't know that you werent allowed to fast the days of tashreeq. but i found this, if anyone is interested.
With regard to the days on which it is not permissible for you to fast, they are the day of Eid al-Fitr, the day of al-Adha and the days of Tashreeq which are the three days after the day of al-Adha.
And al-Bukhaari (1884) narrated that ‘Aa’ishah and Ibn ‘Umar (may Allaah be pleased with them) said: “There is no concession allowing anyone to fast on the days of al-Tashreeq except the one who does not have an animal to sacrifice.”
