I feel Islam is the way, I've looked into it quite a lot and I'm still and square one, I want to convert to Islam, but I've got no idea where to start. Also, I'm a 14 year old white South African, will I be accepted in the Islamic community?

yep, u will be accepted. Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world, thousands of ppl r reverting everyday! u will fit it
if u r confident that islam is the truth, then let not ur age stop you! goto mosque nearest near you, and the ppl will guide u. To become muslim all u have to say is "there is no god but Allah and Muhammed is his messenger".

MashaAllah, that is top stuff!!!! Jus do what you think is ryt, and remember: Islam is the haq, the truth, a religion of peace and submision to one God, Allah....Jus do your research and inshaAllah, this may be exactly what you want, and if so Congratulations!!! Welcome2Islam!!
islams a religion for all colour/backgrounds. our beloved Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his beloved family) said:
"O people! You are all from Adam and Adam was made of dust. No Arab is to be preferred over a non-Arab except by virtue of his piety." He also said: "Allah does not look at your shapes or your colors but He looks at your hearts (intentions) and your deeds. Creatures are the dependants of Allah and the closest among them to Allah are indeed the most useful to His dependants."
and nope.. therefore it dzt mata how you look like. as long as a person is pious.
lol nooooooooo you don't look "haraam", trust me i know a lot of ppl who look like bloody pagans, nah you look normal. However at the end of the day it's what's in the inside that counts - is your belief and are your actions halaal (if not don't worry cuz Islam will certianly make everything ok!)
all the best
yeh like bro danish said - if you have any questions to ask which your unsure of - plz ask and we'll try with Allah (swt)'s help to answer your questions! thanks.. i have to go now though so take care! cya.
of course not, i personally know at least 20 reverts ro islam
what religion do u follow? feel free to ask if u have any Q inshallah
None at the moment, I never really have followed a religion, I've been searching for a path for about 3 years now and never really looked into Islam because of all the media's sterotypes. Then, about 2 months ago, I decided to forget the sterotypes and look into Islam, and I found it to be completely different, although strict, it was the first religion that had ever felt true to me.
But the conversion process has been holding me back, I know I have to say a declaration (I forget the name, lol), but does this have to be done in front of witnesses at a mosque, and regisitered, etc?
you look normal brother so dont worry about it.
There is a special mosque, learning centre in south Africa, it was run by Shiekh Ahmad Deedat, till he passed away recently, they have an education tour there and mosque tour aswell as giving you LOADS of free litreture and you can go there and take shahaada aswell they are realyl helpfull there, and people from all over the world go there, even school kids !
If you dont know about this mosque I will find a link for it for you.

Lucky you, I would love to go to this mosque and centre
Brother, take that step and convert to Islam, By God, a journey of a thousand steps starts with the first Looks hold no importance in Islam as the bros and sisters above have explained really well
“Do not argue with your Lord on behalf of your soul, rather argue with your soul on behalf of your Lord.” - Dhul-Nun
"It is the very pursuit of happiness that thwarts happiness." - Victor Frankl

Alhamdulillah (All praise to Allah)
The recitation of the actual "Shahaadah" is not a requirement for conversion to Islam. Even if a person merely expresses his faith in Allah and his rasul (saw), he is declared a Muslim. Rasulullah (saw) asked a slave woman once, ‘Where is Allah?’ She replied, ‘Up there.’ He then asked, ‘Who am I?’ She replied, ‘The Prophet of Allah.’ Rasulullah (saw) declared her a Muslim. This clearly shows that the recitation of the actual "Shahaadah" is not a requirement for conversion but it is merely preferable. May Allah guide you and us on the right path. Ameen
