~~~I was told that hurricanes are named after woman because people think woman have bad attitudes.... But my father told me that it wasnt called himcans so thats why!! But i'm still confused :confused: if any of you have the answer or think you do plz tell me..... Thankx~~~~~

It depends which list is used. The names are just arbitrary and don't really mean anything, they're just used by meteorologists to distinguish severe storms.

Plus, I think we've established that hurricanes are given male and female names - it's just a coincidence that the two in the news recently were both given women's names.
Basically because generally ppl believe that when women are angry they do a lot of distruction. When the tornados occur...wat happens? DISTRUCTION!

eh? Too much free posting going on in this thread if you ask me. Not all hurricanes are named after women, i recall in the many that hit Florida last year a few were named after men. Also the nameing goes by Alphabetical order, and keeps rotating from what i have heard.
