Yeh ive had an experience of an amil before. Subhaanallah i will never forget it either! The TRUE amil will do evrything islamically, though there are also these frauds who claim to do other stuff which is totally haraam (Black magic, Voodoo.... ) Remember evrythin is from allah, and Allah doesn't test his creation beyond what they can endure...
And nopes, I never been to one. There have been a few who were invited here, they charged about US $5000, and whatever they did didn't work. :zip: I dunno, but most of 'em are in it for money making, and others use black magic, etc. There are very few who are genuine.

Yeh agreed, there are loads out there just for making money and it took a VERY long time to find a genuine amil.... I dunno whether i could ever do that job though
1 in 100 can be a genuine !
most of them r in the job for mere money making
That is so true.
I remeber wen I went to saudi Arabia and I'm teeling you.....it even happens in mASJID aN nABAWI (RIGHT INSIDE). It was such a horrible experience!
Ohhh sorry!! I assumed there is a school for this 'Aamil' thing?? Do u get taught about Black Magic or...? Lol sorry i'm just kinda confused about this
Has anyone here ever been to an aamil? What exactly do they do? Is what they do Islamic?
Asalaamu Alaikum, Although this is an old post since it has been re-started i would like to cite an explanation of an aamil:
Question Who can become an Aamil ??? Do they have to be specialized on something ? Can't everyone do the ruqya on others just by reciting those ayats ?
Answer There are different types of Amals and Wazifas. Abu Hurayra [radhiallaahu anhu] narrates that Rasulullah [sallallaahu alayhi wasallam] said, ‘Whosoever read Haameem al-Mu’min to the words ilayhil maseer and Aayatul kursi in the morning, he is protected till the evening and whoever reads them in the evening will be protected with till the morning. There are many such Wazifas in the Ahaadith which anyone can read.
However, there are certain Amals which are very complex and deals with Jinns and black magic.
There are people who specialise in such issues. This is a special subject. It cannot be learnt from books alone. A person needs to learn this from an Amil. There are Aamils that deal with different matters. Compare this to medicine. A person can read from medical textbooks, but he will not be called a doctor. No one would put their lives in such a person’s hands t, to do so would be foolish. To become a doctor, a person has to go to a medical school. Even those people who go to medical school still have to serve their internship under experienced doctors.
Lawyers have to do their articles, advocates have to do their pupilage. In a medical textbook, a person who is a layman might find a cure. But it will be incorrect for him to administer. He will not know the strength of it or what dosage or whether this is suitable for a patient. Firstly, a correct diagnosis has to be made, then treatment is given by a qualified doctor.
An Aamil needs to diagnose the affected person, then he can treat the patient based on the requirements of his field.
If a person is affected with black magic or is possessed by a Jinn, he could seek the assistance of an Aamil to cure him. The Aamil will not be ‘doing black magic’ or leading a Jinn to a person. He will be curing the person from black magic and from being possessed by a Jinn.
At the outset, we should understand that benefit and harm is in the hands of Allah. Sickness and cure is also from Allah. He Alone grants Shifaa. However, He uses certain means to achieve that. Aamils with correct beliefs and practices according to the Shari?ah are true and effective. By virtue of their piety and the blessings of certain du?aas and verses of the Qur?aan they cure the affected and the sick.
However, it is of paramount importance that one should always believe that Allah is the sole being who gives shifaa (cure). These Aamils use certain methods in achieving this. As long as these practices are not considered as part of Deen, it is permissible to practise.
