Is that Al-Bidayah wan-Nihayah, the work of al-Imam Ibn Katheer you're talking about.

:sl:
that is the one..It is in Arabic but I have the abridged in English and posted it here on another thread in reply to 'fedos' will find it for you, if interested once I have had dindin :D

:w:

I react to anti-Islaamic books too (by not buying them)

Just wondering, How do you know books are anti islamic if you havent read them yourself? Granted books with titles like "Why Islam is Bad for you (made up) are an obviously fall into this category. Do you bases your choices on hear say or religious fatwas for example?

I for one have read Salaman Rushidie's "Satanic Verses" , only then did i protest against it.

Hah. I think I want to read the book.
:sl: :)

there are around a billion of us with same aqeedah (albeit spanned over 4 mazhahib), and it makes sense for all of us NOT to rush headlong to the bookshop to buy the trash to be able to boycott it.

a few of us from each school of thought can borrow the tripe from a library or read its reviews from book reviewers to be able to boycott such lying rubbish (written by approval and money seeking trash which just happens to have an Islamic sounding name) wa salaam alaikum

it is one of those

http://www.lutonmuslims.co.uk/Signs.htm

http://www.sunnahonline.com/ilm/unseen/0002.htm

and here is one of particular interest using the book of Daniel

http://www.islaam.com/books/0_preface.htm

the last one is using the book of daniel to describe the signs of the end, but with a very clear Muslim perspective.. sob7an Allah it bewilders me they can have all that in their book and still believe in the nonsense they believe..

thank you btw.. dindin wasn't to my liking at all =(
I need to stick with bland food.. my mom's cooking brings me such heart burn unfortunately.. eh I have always had a bad stomach... I should stick with yogurt. :D

lol.. that was so funny akhi...
it is really a matter of credibility.. I wouldn't even waste time borrowing it.. again using the analogy of buying a science book written by an artist, or a car repair book written by a phytologist.. If it is very specalized on a subject matter, then I prefer the facts as they happened not someone's spin or conception of what happened.

I have the same problem, however I control what I eat ('Eid is an exception :-)) and al hamdu lillah no problems. My mom makes no problems too. :D

JazakAllahu ta'ala khayran for the links, ma sha Allah, great! :-)
