Can someone kindly verify that the calculations below are correct. I get the feeling I've gone terribly wrong somewhere. I would've asked my teacher, but I have to hand this section in tomorrow :X

The Newton-Raphson method on a solveable equation:

Though I have no idea what the hell that is or what you're on about, following the similar method, I get completely different answer to X1.

What board are you doing?

I calculated again, and this time I got the same answers and the ones above except there seems to be slight rounding error for x1, x4 and x5

lol we're doing that in AQA further maths, looks like ocr is way harder!

I did a different board, but following your outlined method I get:

X1 = 3.627118644

X2 = 3.542454267

X3 = 3.53812734

X4 = 3.538116245

X5 = 3.538116245
