what is poetry, is it confined to certain styles, is it confined to even words alone, why does it evoke such emotions and thoughts, and more importantly does it define art?

what is poetry

it is the expression of things that exist but you cannot physicallly see or touch, like pain and sorrow.
 
well ur asking does poetry define art?
but what is 'art' to u ? , one persons art, is anothers pile of garbage.

Exactly what the sis before me said, it depends on what you mean by "art".
