I know u have many volunteers and perhaps don't need another, but if I ever write a one of article or make a comic would it be okay to submit it ?

Believe me, Sister, the staff is actually small. We need more volunteers. May I add your name down? :o

Not sure if I told you guys this already, but altogether, the newsletter has over ten thousand subscribers. :skeleton:

its exciting, im buzzing feels like history in the making:D

^ Indeed it is an experience. I'm looking forward to it as well, but I really want to thank you all for volunteering. This is a team effort and it could not have been done without us all.

I never gave the Newsletter a second thought until you mentioned it to me in your blog. Yet again, tell me what an editor does, will you? -_-

I could do a couple of book reviews... They have to be related to Islam, right?

I might get my sister to do art occasionally, and get her to submit, maybe.

It'd be nice to add a Funny Bone section. Perhaps shove masters of monday mornings somewhere. Too light-hearted? Islam is fun too!

Oh, and I can help with the layout, if needed.

Wouldn't this be such a cool logo for 'al-Qalam':

Is it possible for you to link me to the same image, but of higher resolution?

So now that E-hafiz has gone on vacation, i suggest that we continue working what we volunteered for while he's gone. Try to prepare a few samples (if you haven't already done so) to submit to e-hafiz when he comes back.

Also we will need an editorial calendar.

^ We do need a calendar and a plan.

We are still hiring volunteers if you are interested!

We can have a column about sport for example ''muslim player watch'' there are few muslim footballers that play weekly so we can talk about how they played that week

Hmm... What do you guys think about that?

I'm okay if you write short articles about previous or recent players, how they converted to Islam, or how they tied Islam with their careers, or how there was a rumor that Shaquille O Neal recited Bismillah in one of his games, etc.

But in terms of an actual sports section, even if it IS a Muslim player, I think it might be out of context.

well we need to decide what columns will the the newsletter have, the headings of the columns, when the first issue will be published, due dates for article submission, etc.

then you can decide the subject of the articles for the coming year.

once you tell us the above, we start writing and once we're done, we submit.

also each volunteer should submit a few articles in advance so you have a bunch at hand to pick from.
