I want to post all the 99 names of Allah wit their definitions, u can all take part too. Can we Pls do it in the right order, n one name per person InshaAllah. This will be a noble deed for us all as ramadans approaching. May Allah add it in the balance of our good deeds ameen.

"The most beautiful names belong to God: so call on Him by them;..." (7:180)

"He is Allah, the Creator, the Originator, The Fashioner, to Him belong the most beautiful names: whatever is in the heavens and on earth, do declare His praises and glory. And He is the Exalted in Might, The Wise. (Quran 59:24)

1. Allah, He who has the Godhood which is the power to create the entities.

Doesn't "Al-Rahmaan" come second? =)

2. Ar-Rahmaan (The Compassionate)

If you recite this name of Allah 100 times daily after every Salaah (prayer), Allah will remove hard-heartedness and negligence from your heart. Insha-Allah.

^^Yes it does.

3. Ar-Raheem

* The Merciful, The One who has plenty of mercy for the believers. *

Can we Pls do it in the right order, n one name per person InshaAllah.

Al-Malik الملك
The Absolute Ruler

And thus have We bestowed from on high this divine writ
as a discourse in the Arabic tongue,
and have given therein many facets to all manner of warnings,
so that men might remain conscious of Us,
or that it give rise to a new awareness in them.
Know, then that God is sublimely exalted,
the Ultimate Sovereign, the Ultimate Truth:
and knowing this, do not approach the Qur'an in haste,
ere it has been revealed unto thee in full, but always say:
"O my Sustainer, cause me to grow in knowledge!"
Ta Ha 20:113-114, tr. Asad

Just to point out, most of the "99 names of Allah" lists aren't completely authentic. So please make sure the name is authentic before posting.

But besides that point, isn't Allah(swt) all of that still? He is technically the ruler, the provider, the merciful, the only who forgives etc...

I read the article but isn't sitting well with me.

4- العزيز Al-ʿAzīz ,means :The Almighty, The Self Sufficient, The Most Honorable
Qur'anic Usage: 3:6, 4:158, 9:40, 48:7, 59:23

I know brother. My point was, isn't Allah(swt) befitting of all those names?

My only point is that sometimes those lists of 99 names aren't all authentic. The ones that have been listed so far in this thread are authentic. I'm just saying there are unauthentic names out there that sometimes get onto these lists.

I understand brother but I'm just saying...it's not processing with me :p I may need to look more into it...jazakAllah Khair anyway.

5. Al-Qudduus
The Holy, The One who is pure from any imperfection and clear from children and adversaries.

7. Al-Mu'min (The Granter of Security)

If you recite this name of Allah 630 times in times of fear, Allah will protect you from all calamities, mishaps and losses. If you write it on paper (or engrave it on a silver ring) and keep it with you (as Ta'weez), your physical and spiritual safety will remain the responsibility of Allah. Insha-Allah.
