This is the 'dome' outside the Dome of the Rock I was referring to. It is architectural genius in my opinion, a mini dome right next to the golden dome itself:
This is interesting. I never knew it was holy to Christians. But seeing as this appears to be the case, Woodrow, would you sanction personally Jewish and Christian worship on the Mount? I mean, not inside the mosque or anything, just on the mount itself.
The Mosque is the entire compound, not just the interior of the structures. I am fairly certain that for Jews it is a Moot point. I believe the Jewish belief forbids them from praying on the mount until the building of the 3rd Temple.
Now about Christians praying there. In the past it was done and never was an issue. However, I think that during this time of tension it would be best not too. From what I understand is that Currently the Israeli Government is forbidding any non-Muslims from praying there, out of fear it could increase tensions and possibly incite riots.
Historically I can not find any indication that Christians had been forbidden to pray there. The laws banning prayers seem to be very recent and did not come about until very near to the time of Arafat's Death.
