since this is about food, hoping to make a red velvet cake for eid...anyone know any good tried n testd recipes?

The first couple of days in Ramadan I needed that instant sweet, and got it from Soda, toward the middle the body just adjusted to not eating and not wanting.. now a days I don't even think about it, it fits in with my life, now I wake up as I used to for work have sihoor which is around the same time I used to have breakfast, then breaking fast is around dinner time 7:30 so basically one is just skipping lunch, and I never had a chance on much of a lunch before used to take those breakfast bars with me, since eating lunch sort of weighs heavily on one...

anyhow today insha'Allah we are having,

طعمية

I didn't know falafel had two names, I just learnt something new...

Will these be made at home or they'll be ready made?

It seems my mom just ground the ta3mya for a later date and put it in freezer bags, I have been in my room working so I didn't know until the stench of fried tilapia hit me.. my parents are really found of that fish.. so that is what we are having today insha'Allah

yup with the head on and all

we always have home made falafel but I only like bought falafel, how is that for an ingrate?

Wow, I've never heard of tilapia before *learns second new thing*

Umm..this may be a silly question, but the head doesn't actually get eaten, does it?

:haha: no but I do know of a cousin who is fond of crunching on the tail at least he did when we were children.. but you know the saying, old habits die hard.. basically you eat it by removing the spiny part and then it unravels.. ends up looking like this at the end

How about some visual aid wlie..
mmmmm

figs are the fruits of paradise I read.. and I do love them.. we have 1:37 minutes to go and to be honest I don't mind since I behind in the crappola I have to finish, once I eat I lazy up and don't want to do any work and well that can be detrimental.. every day I promise I'll make up for time lost the day after but even with 4 and a half our sleep I can't seem to pack what I need into a day..:(

:w:

i want some fresh figs..but i heard that the dried figs are healthier. is that true? i remember we had a fig and pomegranate tree in the house we lived in when i was a little kid..

Done (post edited), though ours was a bit more roasted and drier than the pic....

InshaAllah, things will get easier ukhty...

except the tea is black and the digestives have a delicious layer of chocolate covering :haha:
too bad I have to pay a bundle for those mcvities because they are imported.. one of the few things I miss about having been in England..

:w:

That is one sweet looking fish!

that is exactly what it looks like no pretenses along with some rice (I hope) my mom has a thing against rice but when she makes it 'non-basmati' she is so exquisite at it..
I like Basamati but she can never cook it right for some reason.. I should probably not say that though :(
