So I've been assigned to conduct a "Youth of the Truth" series; shababul huq for the radio.

I'd like my first interview session to be with someone I know, such as a friend. Hence, I chose a local youth group. I'll have to pose them questions... Like, "What are some success stories of your Youth Group? How long have you been in existence? What kind of obstacles might one face in forming a youth group? How do you maintain religious guidelines?" etc etc.

I need your help. What kind of questions would strike interest in the listener? What kind of questions might you be interested in asking?

Please do respond. :exhausted One of the times DJ Rashad needs your help. ;l

And if I get enough responses... I'll stop playing wedding nasheeds on the radio. ;D I've been getting a lot of complaints about that. It really is my subconscious mind choosing those songs... lol :hiding:

Bumperz Thumperz! Please help! The show is Friday and I want to give them this thread link for an example of the questions that'll be posed to them!

Will you be asking questions about the club itself?

Rashad how about this.
you list your questions and we'll tell you if they are a hit or a miss.. how about that? I can't relate to kids and to be honest I don't want to.. the term 'youth' is synonymous to me with some snotty nosed 13 year olds .. if we're talking about some respected sage/scholar I could come up with a few excellent questions..

:w:

Ask them about any activities they do? Stuff they do for fun?

that's a good idea,an you could get some of the younger members opinion etc..

;l I was thinking more heads, the more questions. You obviously disproved my thought. >_> I'm sure you guys are much more creative than I. ;l Please help! lol

That's perfect! we're getting somewhere, alhamdulillah.

Would you guys mind forming your questions so I can just direct it directly to them? :-x Instead of suggesting to me. I should have made that clear in the first post.

Sorry for being so demanding. x_x

Can you give more information about this Youth group? I don't understand what it is...

It's just a youth group at the Masjid. They organize halal events, bring in scholars to share a few words with them every week or on their annual camp, etc.

I want to know what questions you can pose to this youth group, regarding youth in general or youth groups, such as Muslim Student Associations, etc etc.

This is hard :phew

I would ask:

1. How would you use the Youth group to help the general public become more educated about Islam?

2. In what ways has the Youth group benefited the community?

3. What are the major problems do Muslims face in this country? And how should Muslims overcome these problems?

4. What have you learnt while being an active member of this Youth group?

5. What have you achieved while being in this group?

6. How would you like to see this Youth group evolve over the next {insert number} years?

7. What are the major challenges facing this group?

8. How did the Youth group start off?

9. What approach would you take to advocate this group?

Okaaay, I can't think of anymore questions.

some ppl might not know who they are or what a youth group is so ask some questions about what kind of activities they do.

:sl:

What's the purpose of shababul huq, and why have you chosen the title of "shababul huq"?
How can you make a difference, or bring about improvement to the community?
What can, have, and are you willing to do; to achieve your goals?

:wa:

^ Jazakumullahu Khair! ;D Please do keep them coming.

The youth group has activities like ice skating, bowling, annual camp in the mountains "Youth Retreat", etc... So if you want to ask specific quesitons to that, feel free to do so.

I get involved with Tablig Jamaat...where..many events/meets are organised ...directing to students..directing to professionals...etc.

I will share some info about wat happens there....You can relate to it.

In my Halqa there are around 7 masjid... - meaning masjids are grouped...group of 4 - 7 depending upon the range.

There are meetings on first sunday...on one of the masjid to discuss and share knolwedge....People read hadiths... the gathering listens...then we call for people to give time for Dawah... it happens for around 2hrs..right after fajr.... We also keep a note on who all are coming to masjid regularly etc..noting their names...- This helps in scheduling the dawah programmes for the month.

Then there is a masjid selected for a group of halqas...where in on a particular day of every week.... There is bayan and Deen activities from maghrib to Isha.. Isha prayer..then speech for another 1.5 hrs...people sleep in the masjid tha night...some leave after the speech...and then there is a shot speech after Fajr namaz...
- Energy Booster for the week.

Then every month we choose a weekend - and we travel to another masjid in your halqa ....stay there for around 3 days...(usually fri sat sun)....Totally Involve in Deen activities.

Sleeping in the masjid is one of the best feelings you will get :)

Thats how it goes...on. There are events specific to students...during the academic vacations..as well.

To be honest..i was involved in the Deen activities...when i was at univ..but after gettin into job..i find very difficult to spend much time...

Some questions.....like...

Youths meaning they are students?? if they are in job ...how are they managing time to get into these activities?? Do they arrange these meets/events...on a particular day of the month everytime...or its floating? How do you motivate others to join into these gatherings on a regular basis?? Do they move out of thier locality to and host events..?? Do they visit a muslim' personally at his house and invite them...(i mean the muslims who are not much seen in masjids...) ??
Whats their plan when they grow old...any idea of making these events/meets big?? future plans??Are they advised by shekhs on how to go head ..organisin...did any scholars provide any suggestion on improving wat they are doing??

^ I love those questions! Jazakumullahu Khair!

This thread can now be considered successful Alhamdulillah! :p

Please do keep the questions. Ask away. :]
