Asalaamu alaykum brothers and sisters,

First of all I would like to point out that I am someone who has suffered a lot from waswas and also I am incredibly paranoid. Insha Allah, both these factors are much better in me today than it was a few months ago even. So if sometimes a question seems rather silly to you, I apologise but it's probably something rather important to me.

I have ordered some books on amazon and on the site it tells us that we are not to share our email addresses with one another for our identity protection etc. I ordered some books from one particular person who also has their own website on the internet for selling books so if you type in his user name the website comes up and you can find his email details then (or hers). On Amazon, I could only select standard delivery option which is an issue for me because that would take too long and I needed the books ASAP with me.

So I contacted the user via Amazon asking them if they could send it via first class and I can pay the extra postage and in order for this to be arranged, he needs to send me an invoice to my private email address so that I can then use paypal. He (or her) tried to send me their email address but amazon removes all links so he just said to google his user name and contact him using the email address on his website he uses as well as amazon to sell books through.

I know my question might seem silly now but I keep thinking that I am somehow doing something wrong (religion wise) by going against what Amazon has told us (about email addresses) and yet using their services ultimately. I am justifying this in my head by thinking that well I am not obtaining his email address via amazon anyway but rather by going to the website. I don't even know if this is a big deal at all for me to worry about? I wished I could have just ordered the books from the second website but it would just more time to cancel the Amazon order now and do it via that site. Basically (and I'm being serious), have I done anything wrong and will the education I receive using these books be halal?

Thank you.

May Allah (swt) bless you all.

Asalaamu Alaikum, My sister making a couple of minor errors of judgement does not make everything one is doing haraam. Tey only have that policy to protect its users against fraud, hacking etc. Learn from it and do things better next time around but do not think to such an extreme extent in such matters.

And Allah knows best in all matters
