Two children killed in Afghanistan acid attack

Kabul (CNN) -- Two children have been killed in an acid attack in Afghanistan's eastern Ghazni province, the provincial police chief said Saturday.
The children died after acid was thrown on their faces and into their mouths, police chief Zrawar Zahid said.
Their bodies were brought to Ghazni hospital by the Afghan National Army Friday, after villagers raised the alert, he said.
The bodies were found in Nani village, in Ghazni province's Andar district, Zahid said.
Police do not know if the children are from Ghazni or who their families are, he said.

Pardon my ignorance, but for what reason are people taking the law into their hands and passing judgment on their own?

Vigilantes take the law into their own hands to punish others because they think those others have done something wrong. In this case, the 'others' are innocent children.

I suppose the children are lucky in a way they will not have to live through life without sight and deformed face, if they're under pubescent they will go to heaven inshaAllah.
