Maybe the beautiful places in the pictures are far from your home. But I am sure, there are many other beautiful places in pakistan that not so far from your home. But why you and other people around you do not explore those places?.

There are many people in my city who live in slum areas. They are poor. But they have visited mountain or beach, or both. They went to those places with community cheap tour. This tour is very cheap, of course, because organized by their youth who do not take profit. And planned few weeks before, so they have time to saving money to go tour.

They hired cheap buses, and sleep in the buses too. They bring foods from home. In tour like this, those who really don't have money can still follow too. They don't need to worry about eating. Other participants must be will share their foods.

Community tour is very good to build togetherness between people in the community.

I love Pakistan for its large variety in geographical differences. It's like having different parts of the world all in one country.

The 'pies' the woman is carrying are made form cow dung mixed with straw. They are used
as fuel for cooking. (Cow dung is clean when cows graze on natural pastures.)

I like the contrast of the dude with the ox cart on the dirt road walking beside the railroad tracks.

Those are large gauge tracks too, from the looks of it. Different gauge railway than what we have here in the US.

Dearie,you live in the most beautiful and most safe area of Karachi.What made you think so negative?The world is full of places like saddar Karachi but that doesn't mean we keep on pointing out the negative side of our city and our Country.Did you ever notice the beauty of those ancient buildings across Saddar?How many cities have such beautifully designed ancient buildings?

Sister Snowflake, the third picture below the man and his cart near the railroad tracks, is my favorite. It looks like a very happy gathering. And it makes me think about what it would have looked like back when Moses and the other prophets (peace and blessings be upon them) where alive. The way they dress and the beliefs just go to prove that they worship the way Allah wants them, too. Things are the same and that, in my opinion, makes it right. Nothing has really changed much after all these many many years. Thank you for sharing the pictures. Is it ok, if I safe the picture in my picture file on my computer?

I was thinking along the same lines about the ancient Man after seeing those pics from village. Its only in the last 1000 years or so, Man has changed his habitat so much. Think about ancient times, 5000 years ago, or even 10000 years ago, how close to nature man was. How unartificial life was. Pakistan has two historical sites which date back to more than 5000 years old, Harappa and Mohenjodaro. I cannot help but think of people living at those times.

Yes, today we live longer, but with a high disease burden. What is better? To die young and healthy with dignity, or to die a dependent and an undignified death in old age with ill health, dementia and what not? I'd leave it up to the readers.

I loved that pic with children riding the mujh (black cow? lol) in water. What a care-free sight. Unfortuantely many of these kids drown and their dead bodies are seen floating in the rivers. Or many of them get into car accidents if the stream is beside the road, with the cranium crushed and brain tissue splattered on the road. I saw one such fresh accident. My life was never the same again.
