ASSALAMU ALAIKUM

First of all i want to thank everyone of you,I am new to the muslim community and i reverted a few days ago,and everthing for me is going great,i feel like my life is changing (for the good) its like a 360 degrees twist.
What i wanted to know today its what are the do's and dont's of muslim?

if some one can be kind to make a list, for example ,parties, casual drink, relationships, love, etc, etc, all kind of help is well appreciated. :)

Wa-alaikum salam Brother Fronze.

A list could take forever. We Muslims don't drink alcohol, or eat pork for one thing. It's generally frowned upon to be alone with the opposite sex. Parties would be fine, but I'd be careful with the alcohol. Don't partake in it or touch it.

Are drinking toast accepted?,no pork?why not may i ask? also if i am in front of another muslim women can we shake hands?or no contact?
thank you

I would advice you to learn more about the basics of Islam first brother. It's important to have the foundations strong so that you will be able to approach questions in the proper manner. For example, you ask "Why no pork". I can tell you how filthy/dirty the pig is but the real reason we do not eat pork is because Allah has forbidden it. God forbidding something is enough for us to stay away from it.

Do try to join a class to learn more.

In the mean time I think this video is helpful in the basics

Does this classes have a name?i wil be going to the mosque tmrw,so i can learn better my wudu and salaah, how do i ask them? thanks brother

Usually the course name is something generic like "Basic Classes For New Muslims". I think you can simply enquire at the mosque that you are heading to. What's the mosque name?

Do you have a copy of the Quran akhi?
It isn't just pigs, there are a few things so I am going to quote you from the noble book:

(3) FORBIDDEN to you is carrion, and blood, and the flesh of swine, and that over which any name other than God’s has been invoked, and the animal that has been strangled, or beaten to death, or killed by a fall, or gored to death, or savaged by a beast of prey, save that which you [yourselves] may have slaughtered while it was still alive; and [forbidden to you is] all that has been slaughtered on idolatrous altars. And [you are forbidden] to seek to learn through divination what the future may hold in store for you: this is sinful

This is from suret Al'maida

jamaica muslim center,
also i have a question, in islam is there a category like "priest or something like that? For example when i did my shahada, was that person a higher rank? Sorry i had this question for a while

That person is an Imam but they're just regular people not above us.. then there are scholars of Islam etc. More like Judaism than Christianity .. they've rabbis and scholars as well supposedly anyway.

If there's a 'bird flu' or 'mad cow' then yes but they're not otherwise, just try to eat kosher or Halal when you start.. I am sure you've seen many Halal carts and kosher resturants?
Also if you've read the bible, Jesus PBUH never ate pigs, and never said people can eat them they were always prohibited, it is said that he even cast the devils from a man into pigs and let them die.. so why would God prohibit something in the OT and allow it in the NT if it is the same Message from the same God?
Also liquor of all sorts is forbidden.

this is their website though i cant quite find info on classes for new muslims.

If you have facebook you can join their facebook page face, book .com/jmcofficial
it might be easier to contact them through there. Or just ask them when you go there tomorrow :)

thank you brother ill defenetly do :)

Not a problem akhi, did we answer everything you wanted answered or there's more?

just wanted to add my brother, i urge you to learn the prayer as soon as possible if you already havent done so and to learn the pronounciation of the Quran (Tajweed) also as this is extremely important.

may Allah make your life as a muslim a blessing and grant you eternal bliss, make dua (prayers) for me please.
