Are you kidding ? Accounting is so much fun. loved it since the 8th grade.
 
In paki land it starts frm 9th grade wen u choose ur subjects for o levels buh as I had science subs in my o levels I started it in A levels which is the 12th grade.

At some point around then, I learned about bookkeeping and decided i wanted to be a bookkeeper. you can guess i loved working with records especially money recordkeeping. In highschool i took accounting, then studied it in college too. I was in USA back then.
 
^yes, accounting work is tiresome and gets boring. But accountants don't have to be stuck in those jobs for long. That stuff is just for fresh graduates. Later you can go into jobs such as financial analyst, management consultant, financial consultant etc where you make strategic business decisions.

In Indonesia accounting taught only in "social science majors" started at grade 11 when high school majors begin to divided into four: physic, biology, social, language.

They are all boring. To put it simply I just hate work. I want to sit down and eat. All day.

In USA we had some regular high school subjects as well as elective subjects to choose. You chose the subjects you were interested in whichever they were, like accounting, business administration, managment, journalism, etc. I chose accounting and journalism and home economics subject. Later i wished i had chosen intro to business administration since it wouldve made that subject easier in college.

In Indonesian high school subjects are given in package, depend on majors, and students cannot choose the majors that they want. School determine it. I was in social majors in high school. Then in university I chose business management.

Ah trust me, I did not chose this subject. I was forced into it. I had no choice because I need a job and make some money. I was previously working in the legal field until I was told to pack up and leave. :/ Accounts is where I landed.

Oh career change is not a good option now, considering the state of the economy!
 
Bookkeeping recordkeeping perform is only done by bookkeepers and recently finished accounting firms while knowledgeable ones go onto to more fun tasks such as control advisor, economical advisor, etc.
