Allah has no reason to be angry at all

Allah knows what he created so he knows what to expect, our words and actions do not hurt Allah in anyway to the point that makes him angry.

I have a friend, an atheist, who has that approach.. That God created evil, so why be mad when people do bad things...and then throw them in hell for doing things that God made possible/created.

Allah is not losing anything though, so Allah shouldn't be too angry and btw there are more people in the world who disobey Allah anyway.

When we speak of earning Allah's anger it means earning Allah's displeasure. Our sincere obedience earns His pleasure. So your mistake is in likening the anger of Allah to that of a human being. When we get angry we might lose control of ourselves, we might go too far in dealing with an issue. That is not the case with Allah as He is Al Adl(Most Just).

Wow that is a dangerous way of thinking,
Maybe do a Quran index search with the term "wrath" (ghadab), u may find come up somewhere around 51 times depending on the language you use,

To then doubt it is to doubt the Quran, the word of Allah, the book of which there is no doubt (u'll find that in the first few verses), then you may aswell heed the fire who's fuel is men and stones.

People before you came up with childish questions like that and they were dealt with accordingly:

أُولٰئِكَ الَّذينَ يَدعونَ يَبتَغونَ إِلىٰ رَبِّهِمُ الوَسيلَةَ أَيُّهُم أَقرَبُ وَيَرجونَ رَحمَتَهُ وَيَخافونَ عَذابَهُ ۚ إِنَّ عَذابَ رَبِّكَ كانَ مَحذورًا

Those whom they call upon do desire (for themselves) means of access to their Lord, - even those who are nearest: they hope for His Mercy and fear His Wrath: for the Wrath of thy Lord is something to take heed of.

Your method of reasoning Seems to indicate that you feel that you have delved into the unseen and know exactly why Allah shouldn't be pleased or angry or jealous. However in truth, it is in Allah's hands.

Allah tells us that He tests us despite knowing the unseen.

That alone is enough to make someone pull their hair out in confusion,
But it is certain that Allah does know the unseen and has demonstrated that amply via His messengers.

Brother, when it comes to the unseen, we must accept that it is beyond human comprehension.
Or you'll find yourself thinking its a game or something,
Did Allah created Adam knowing He'd send him to earth?
Seems so.
Did Adam have to seek forgiveness? Yup, Allah inspired him with certain words.
Did Allah then make him commit the fault?
You see wot Im getting at?

It'll leave you confused and angry and may even lead you to kufr - despite knowing that Allah exists!
The unseen is a part of Islam (submission).


لا يُسـَٔلُ عَمّا يَفعَلُ وَهُم يُسـَٔلونَ

He cannot be questioned for His acts, but they will be questioned (for theirs).

Some people before you did ask such questions, and on that account lost their faith.

And finally, one of my fav verses, tells us that Allah will send His help after He has tested people and cleared the blurry lines and waverers between iman and kufr like He did with Moses and Noah and Lut (pbut). So it's in our best interest to distinguish ourselves and maintain a separate identity from the evil doing nations.

ما كانَ اللَّهُ لِيَذَرَ المُؤمِنينَ عَلىٰ ما أَنتُم عَلَيهِ حَتّىٰ يَميزَ الخَبيثَ مِنَ الطَّيِّبِ ۗ وَما كانَ اللَّهُ لِيُطلِعَكُم عَلَى الغَيبِ وَلٰكِنَّ اللَّهَ يَجتَبى مِن رُسُلِهِ مَن يَشاءُ ۖ فَـٔامِنوا بِاللَّهِ وَرُسُلِهِ ۚ وَإِن تُؤمِنوا وَتَتَّقوا فَلَكُم أَجرٌ عَظيمٌ


Allah will not leave the believers in the state in which ye are now, until He separates what is evil from what is good nor will He disclose to you the secrets of the Unseen. But He chooses of His Messengers (For the purpose) whom He pleases. So believe in Allah. And His messengers: And if ye believe and do right, ye have a reward without measure.

Indeed, if God created us with all our flaws and weaknesses, then he must know how difficult it is for us to follow his commands and be 'good people'. Hence he must expect us to mess up and fail.

Umar (ra) is reported to have stood on the minbar and demanded that the mahr be lowered, a woman stood up and refuted him with the book of Allah, he humbly said a woman is right and umar is wrong.

Umar is reported to have stood for khutbah and repeated the words of the messenger of Allah "whomsoever Allah guides, there is none to misguide, and whomsoever Allah causes to go astray- there is none to guide",
A man stood up and retorted (from his whim): Allah does not misguide anyone!
Umar said: If you say that again, I will kill you. (full stop with emphasis).


A man at one of the Muslim battle fronts was going around and asking useless and non-beneficial questions like what does azzaariyaati Zar'a mean, what does annaashitaati nashtaa mean, to the extent that the generals and commanders became worried about fitnah among the new Muslims to the extent that they sent a request to ameerul my-mineen umar, he asked that the man be sent to medina.
When the man arrives in the mosque umar (ra) asks: I hear you have some questions, the man begins repeating his silly year ions and umar says yes go on, go on until he finishes,
Umar then orders a carpet to be brought and rolls the man in the carpet and starts beating it with his famous stick, do you know the answer to your questions?
Yes yes ameerul mu-mineen, I know the answer.
The man never asked those questions until umar died, and then apparently started asking again.

This is why we are reminded of the importance of one's intention before the action. We have no power over the outcome of our actions. This is why we can always repent as long as we are breathing no matter how many times we have sinned. There is a difference in trying to obey and then failing as opposed to outright disobedience.

It speaks of our relationship with God. I can very much relate to that.
It's not that we can realistically expect to be perfectly good people - but we can try and draw to God in worship, prayer and repentance when we fail. Arguably that's what makes us followers of God.

Nice question! I think you miss a point though.

You don't take into account our free will and choice. Allah (swt) is All-Knowing; He knows everything, but He does not direct, urge or misguide anyone to do evil and commit sins. That He knows we will do something evil doesn't change the fact that that wrong-doing is our choice. Think about the below sentences:

"The power of choice is not opposed to Divine Determining, indeed, Divine Determining corroborates the power of choice. Because Divine Determining is a sort of Divine Knowledge. Divine Knowledge is connected with our will and choice, in which case it corroborates it, it does not nullify it."

"Divine Determining is a sort of knowledge. Knowledge is dependent on the thing known. That is, it is connected with however it will be. The thing known is not dependent on knowledge. That is, the principles of knowledge are not fundamental in order to direct the thing known from the point of view of external existence. Because the essence of the thing known and its external existence looks to will and relies on power, not only knowledge."


He has given us precious equipment like intellect, heart, conscience etc. not to follow Satan and the evil-commanding soul; and He has sent Prophets and Books to make clear what is right and wrong and what He expects from us and what not.

"Yes, as the Qur’an states, man is completely responsible for his evils, for the one who wishes the evils is he. Since evils are destruction, man may perpetrate much destruction with one evil act, and he becomes deserving of an awesome punishment - like burning a house with one match. However, he does not have the right to take pride in good deeds; his right in them is extremely small. For what wants and requires the good deeds is Divine Mercy, and what creates them is Dominical Power. Both request and reply, reason and cause, are from God. Man only comes to have them through supplication, belief, consciousness, and consent. But what wants evil acts is man’s soul, either through capacity or through choice. Like in the white and beautiful light of the sun some substances become black and putrefy, and the blackness is related to their capacity. But the one who creates the evils through a Divine law which comprises numerous benefits is again Almighty God. That is to say, the cause and the request are from the soul, so that it is the soul which is responsible. And as for the creation and bringing into existence, which belong to Almighty God, since they have other results and fruits which are good, they are good.

It is for the above reason that to commit or desire evil is evil, but the creation of evil is not evil. A lazy man who receives damage from rain, which comprises many instances of good, may not say that the rain is not Mercy. Yes, together with a minor evil in the creation and giving of existence are numerous instances of good. To abandon that good for a minor evil becomes a greater evil. Therefore, a minor evil becomes like good. There is no evil or ugliness in Divine creation. They rather pertain to His servant’s wish and to his capacity.

Furthermore, just as Divine Determining is exempt from evil and ugliness with regard to results and fruits, so too it is free from tyranny and ugliness with respect to reason and cause. Because Divine Determining looks to the true reasons and acts justly. Men construct their judgements on reasons which they see superficially and fall into wrong within the pure justice of Divine Determining. For example, a judge finds you guilty of theft and sends you to prison. You are not a thief, but you have committed a murder which no one knows about. Thus, Divine Determining also sentenced you to imprisonment, but it sentenced you for the secret murder and acted justly. Since the judge sentenced you for a theft of which you were innocent, he acted unjustly. Thus, in a single thing the justice of Divine Determining and Divine creation and the wrong of man’s acquisition were apparent in two respects; you can make analogies with it for other things. That is to say, with regard to origin and end, source and branch, cause and results, Divine Determining and creation are exempt from evil, ugliness, and tyranny." Bediuzzaman

I also strongly agree and support Hulk's post about not to mistake Allah's anger with ours.

Our attributes are but form of a dull, short-ranged telescope, in order to observe the Attributes of Dominicality. Any comparison between Allah and us (His creatures) cannot contain the reality of Allah's attributes; they cannot encompass them and be the measure of them, but they can assist in looking at them. Any phrases or expressions in such comparisons unfitting for the attributes of the Most Pure and Holy Essence are the fault of the comparisons.


For example, the meanings of pleasure, joy, anger, and gratification known by us cannot express the Sacred Attributes, but each is the title of an observatory, a means of reflective thought.

Really?

According to this logic your parents should have no need to be angry if they expect you to make blunders in your life. They should be absolutely content at the age of prepubescence when you break glasses, draw on the walls with lipstick and pull your two year old baby sister's hair because she's cuter than you. They should be perfectly at ease at secondary school when you hang out with the wrong company, take drugs, drink alcohol and make commitments with a playmate.

With this logic the Messenger of God saws1 shouldn't have felt angry when he thought he saw 'Aisha (r) with an unrelated man alone in his house, and her without her hijab.

Respect. Consideration. Boundaries. These words are really in the minds of people that have no tangible meaning in the real world. Why should anyone ever get angry at anything?
