Surah Dhuha....... first rakah......
wa alaikum assalam

I switched Saudi TV on and thought about Sheikh Subbayl .. he hadn't for some time now. :)

Reckon Sheikh Salih al Talib is leading asr then?

^ Not Sheikh Usama Khayyat ? :)

surah Inshiraah. for second rakah.

huh? for asr? nah.. he could be dhuhr.. cos if the imams are 'back to normal', then Sheikh Salih al Talib would be leading asr innit?

Ash-shaykh ash-Shuraym normally says: "Istawoo, istawoo, aqeemoo sufoofakum wa suddoo al-khalal". Sometimes, he says: "Wa laa takhtalifoo fatakhtalifa quloobukum" (as is mentioned in al-Hadith).

EDIT ... and I missed out "I'tadiloo" at the end.

But the muazzin doesn't say this. That just shows on the screen (by the TV channel for the viewers' benefit. The muazzin actually calls out: "Salaatul-qiyaami athaabukumAllah!".

I think that was what he meant. It sounds awesome when you are there, and even when you watch it on TV

yes that's what i meant.

If i cried cos Sheikh Shuraim is leading would be cos I am sooooooo happy to see him and listen to his recitation.

It means 'Salatul-Qiyaam' or Salatul-Taraweeh'
Yaathaabakumullah means straighten the rows and get ready

Wa 'alaykum as-salaam

"AthaabakumAllah" doesn't mean that! The verb "athaaba, yutheebu" means "to reward" (thawaab = reward), so the meaning of the above would be "May Allah reward you!". Yes, you could say indirectly that the muazzin is calling those who wish to obtain reward from Allah 'Azza wa Jall to get ready.

What's not the same thing, brother (assuming you're referring to my post)?

I'd also like to mention, since you are unconvinced, that when questions are posed to great scholars (e.g. the grand mufti of SA) on the saudi radio, the questioner ends by saying "athaabakumAllah fadheelat ash-shaykh". So, I really think the meaning here holds.

Furthermore, I just searched (you can do that too) and found a website which has put the same translation for this call. I'm not putting it here because it's a fatwah ruling it to be bid'ah (subHaanAllah)!

Hope you come to the same conclusion as me, athaabakumAllah!

As-salaamu 'alaykum all

I just found a site (Shuraim.net) dedicated to the grand ash-Shaykh Sa'ood bin Ibraaheem ash-Shuraym (hafizahullah), but it is in need of a lot of improvement.
