Hello all,

I'm Jung and I am here to learn and wish you a well journey.

I am 23/M/MI and am writing a paper for an honors course about how cultures and religions view medical life extension therapies. I would like to represent Islam.

Western medicine continues to develop therapies like healthy dieting and genetic engineering that can make people live longer. What are your views and how does Islam view intervention that extends lifespan?

Muslims are encouraged to seek medical treatment and this type of 'intervention' is not really considered intervention since it is believed that God knew who would take such treatments in advance, and as such it was already part of the lifespan He decreed. Concerning genetic engineering:

I am beginning to learn about Islam's view of science. I ‘m also writing a paper about Evolution and Islam due at the end of April. I will post any findings here so you may comment on them.
