"A believer eats in one intestine (is satisfied with a little food) and a non-believer eats in seven intestines (eats much)."
What if the case is if one trys to build up his body and needs alot of food. Because would'nt then the "alot" of food be beneficial because it would in shaa Allah make you stronger?
So if someone can give me an explanation of this hadith if you are doing something like strength training bodybuilding strengthening the body overall, is the view then changed?
JazakaAllah khair, your brother StrivingforDeen

:wa:

That hadith is about greed and has nothing to do with fitness.

If you must eat much because you need, it's not considered as greed.

JazakaAllahu khair brother ardianto
May Allah (swt) reward you for your efforts
Aameen

^On a completely separate note, I was told that me having half the normal amount of intestines didn't mean that it was a sign of Imaan. I had to ask :X

I think the key message is to eat in moderation like everything else in life.

Not too much and not too little - the only thing we can 'over-consume' is Islam and increase our emaan as there is no danger in practicing and worshiping your faith excessively (all benefits)

JazakaAllahu khair all of my beloved brothers and sister :D
May Allah (swt) reward all of you for your efforts
Aameen

Brothers and sisters do you know how The Sahaba and the people of old times (may Allah be pleased with them) Bulked up their bodies and gained strenght (heard descriptions of them muscular tall I think everything positive what where their training methods diets any help on it may be appreciated
JazakaAllahu khair
PS. If I left anything out add it :D
May Allah (swt) reward all of you
Aameen

I always go back to the basics when faced with these kinds of scenario.

It starts with intention.

If we take it from a 'fitness' aspect, then the intention is maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Allah wants us to have healthy lifestyle. So eat of the provisions given and that you have earned. Remember also to feed the poor and be charitable.

I generally practice eating until I'm not hungry. Rarely do I eat until I'm full.

:peace:

#added in edit.

I remember in boarding school all those years ago, I was in the school swimming team and a force to be reckoned with in the butterfly stroke. I trained hard, very hard, was unbeaten. But just before I got to my peak fitness, my body broke down..i get fever.. every year this would happen. Answer: boarding school diet sucks. Wasn't getting enough of the right food. :hmm:

I don't see that edit bit I did. Weird. Yaa, much later, after I had left the school I found out that I needed supplements and stuff. School food was not enough. :exhausted

I was a competitive swimmer with private coach when I was kid. Of course I got hard training, especially before competition event. But my coach didn't tell me to eat more or eat special food.

When I was teenager I became motocross racer and I always lost my weight after every race event. Sometime it more than 4 kilos. It's because I never got lunch during race and practice days. I also avoid eat much in the morning because I didn't want to get trouble with my stomach. But after the race event I always regain my weight.

How do you do it?
That's happened naturally. The atmosphere of race create high tension for the racers and make them always in standby condition. But after the race event is over, the tension begin to loosens, and they begin to feel tiredness.

This tiredness made me sleep more and made me want to eat more too. Of course, then I regain my weight.

I don't get how sleeping relates can you explain?
In sleeping you spend calories very less compared when you awake, and if you sleep immediately after eat, then the calories that you get from food will be saved as body fat.

Tension makes your brain commands your body to use energy reserve to make you always in standby condition which you spend much calories. Then after the tension loosens, your brain command your body to regain the calories. That's why you feel you want to eat more. You also always sleepy in this period because your body is trying to save the calories.

And indeed, I slept immediately after ate. :)

MashaAllah TabarakAllah words of knowldege
PS. People bulking be like "the secret strategy"

But there is difference between "regain" and "gain".

What I was talking about is regaining the weight that had lost, not gaining more weight for bodybuilding purpose. If you want to gain more weight for bodybuilding purpose you cannot eat then sleep because it will makes you going fat. What you should do is eat right food in right amount and do training.
