Of my mind one pitfall is always possible: those countries declare some ethnic or religious minority group what demands equal rights in Sunni-based society as their enemy and attack against it and does not care about human rights issues of them.

Indonesia refuses to join Muslim Military Coalition

Indonesian Foreign Minister, Retno Marsudi, announced that Indonesia refuses to join Muslims Military Coalition because it's against the Indonesian foreign policy that disallow Indonesian military to join in coalition that established by foreign country. The only foreign operation for Indonesian military is as peacekeeping force under United Nation. Retno Marsudi also deny Saudi statement which mention that Indonesia support the coalition.

In another place. Coordinator Minister for Politic, Law, and Security, Luhut Binsar Panjaitan said that Indonesia refuses to join the coalition because the purpose of this coalition is to attack, while Indonesia has different method of counter terrorism which prioritize "soft approach" that positioning Islam as peaceful religion.

This is what is good about wide coalition of diverse muslim countries.
To be viable, such coalition must be very responsible, to arrange it's decisions with all members.
Even NATO, as a coalition plays only defensive role, but not effective in restraining it's members from attacking.
I would prefer to see Indonesia as a part of coalition, restraining hotheaded fellow comember countries, instead of staying aside. May be current refusal is a part of a game, demanding more clear conditions or something like that ;)

This coalition is not intelligence cooperation, but military alliance which its purpose is to launch military attack. And 34 countries not enough to attack ISIS positions?.

Indonesia already active in countering terrorism and cooperate with foreign countries. But Indonesia has its own policy that consider the potency of radicalism among Muslims. The extremists launched propaganda which mention that the war on terror is the war on Islam, and Muslim majority countries have become the servants of the West. This is the propaganda that has to be countered by Indonesian govt. That's why government choose the soft program, deradicalization.

The coalition itself established by initiative of Saudi Arabia because they feel very threatened by ISIS and consider to attack. But in another side, Saudi think that they need to counter accusation that Muslims countries are under command of the West in the war against terrorism. So Saudi decide to create the Muslim military coalition that can launch military attack that separated from the West commando line.
