So i recently bought some girly book for my daughter who is seven by the way but my husband said that she shouldnt read made up stories so i was wondering where u buy ur kids islamic reading books and i want buy alot so she reads everyday. any help will be really appreciated.

I don't think there is anything wrong with fictional children books, but I understand if your husband wants her to be reading things which will benefit her and give her knowledge from an early age. :)

Reading fiction is permissible so long as it does not contain anything which is Haraam (shameless, immoral content, etc.)

What about books such as Harry Potter, shaykh? I enjoyed reading them when I was little but a lot of people say they are haraam, because of the sorcery/witchcraft they contain. I'd think most kids would understand it's fiction, and so not take it seriously?
