How To Get Involved at local mosque

Newbie here..44 year old man wants to investigate islam and meet new people around the world..
 
Greetings and peace be with you uesbc; and welcome to the forum;

I intend to go to a mosque for the first time next week. I looked up my local mosque on the internet, they advertise visiting times, and you don't have to make an appointment at this mosque, so I intend to just turn up and see what happens.

They are a friendly bunch on this forum, so ask lots of questions.

I went to the mosque today for the first time. They were gracious understand and thorough in the hour that I spent with a senior person. It only makes me want to become a REAL Muslim even more.

I'm three months a new Muslim and I found this really hard to get involved.

I emailed four masjids for Info and heard nothing, I had a recommendation and a sisters number to text, which I did. A meet was set up at the masjid and she didn't show and didn't answer any more texts. Maybe her phone was stolen or something like this, I hope not but I don't know so, I'm not going to assume the worst.

After that, another masjid and another sisters number who I texted and she didn't get back to me. I text again and she apologised, said she had forgotten, then said she'd call that evening and never did. That was a week ago.

I still haven't attended a masjid yet.
