I used to wear hijab and pray for 2 years straight in pants! All my prayers are invalid!

So what is proper hijab? Many of us don't just know or are just careless. It has to be a loose dress that covers the curves. A skirt and a dress on top of a skirt can work. Just have to make sure your waist is covered.

If you did not know that wearing in close clothing was not allowed,
YOUR PRAYERS ARE VALID.
Ignorance is an excuse.
For example.
If you committed a sin,but you did not know it was a sin,
You have not sinned.
So if you did not know that praying in tight clothing is not allowed,
You are free of blame.
There is no need for you to repeat your prayers. They are accepted.

Thank you so much! I hope they are accepted. I still doubt that they are not. Do you have a fatwa or a reference hadeeth or verse ?

Read point Number 2 in this fatwa.

Your case is similiar. You were unaware of the ruling.
If you want a fatwa referring Specifically to your case,I can do it if you allow me to.
But rest assured.
Ignorance is forgiven. But if you are still not assured after reading the above fatwa,
I will,Allah willing, get a fatwa referring to your specefic case.

In Hadith for example.
When the Prophet(Peace be upon him) was praying in shoes,Jibreel came to him and informed him that his shoes were impure So the Prophet(peace be upon him) took of his shoes, and continued his prayer, and DID NOT START THE PRAYER OVER AGAIN.
It is because he was unaware that his shoes were Filthy.

Assalamu Alaykum

Thank you so much my brother. If you can get a fatwa though it would add to certainty. Thanks again

Asalaamu Alaikum. My sister we can never have certainty that any of our good deeds are accepted. But we should also not lose hope either. This is because we should always be in the state of a balance between fear and hope. So fear we may not be forgiven and our deeds not accepted and hope that they will be accepted and that we will be forgiven. However we have to bare in mind that we must be remorseful and make a firm intention of not repeating such a sin and at the same time have hope in Allah that he will forgive us because he loves to forgive.

Many of us are ignorant of matters and later when they are clarified we realise our mistakes. So leave the past now, be remorseful about it and ask of Allah sincerely to forgive you and pardon you for your mistakes then have hope in Allah for his mercy and know that his mercy overcomes his anger and his generosity is incomprehensible.

Continue to learn about Deen. Join a local sisters circle in the Masjid or Islamic centre. Get involved with voluntary work with good sisters in your community. Do everything to please Allah and know there is no better feeling in the world and contentment comes from the remembrance of Allah and living your life where you want to do everything to please him and to refrain from anything that displeases him. Thank him much and repent unto him constantly. Awaken for Tahajjud just before Fajr prayer and ask of him. Connect to him through reading, learning and understanding the Quran.

May Allah make you off those who benefit the Deen and give you the best of this world and the next. Ameen
