What is the main reason for homosexuality being a sin? Is it because people can't make babies? It is quite ironic how much hate an innocent individual can get just because of their sexual orientation at the snap of your fingers. And please, don't ever compare them to murderers and rapists and all those psychos. That's ridiculous. Just cause someone's not straight doesn't mean they become the villain all of a sudden. It's just like comparing apples and oranges; they're two different things.

With regards to making babies, with the help of science now there are so many ways of having a baby. And most kids adopted by gay parents are happy. They get the love they want even though it's from just one set of genders as their parents.
If god gave us a brain, we may as well use it and overcome such issues, meaning, we can sort the issue by thinking of other alternative ways, such as adoption or having a surrogate mother, etc.

And on the other hand, if a person was to be gay, the chances of them not marrying the opposite gender is high. Which means that they won't have a baby anyway. So either way, married or not married, a gay won't have a baby unless they choose to adopt which of course, heterosexual single parents and couples do as well. So what's the point of hating them?

Also, I'm a straight female and I hang out with both straight and gay friends (male/female). Some are muslims (and some are Christians/catholics/atheists) who're gay and some straight and non of us have any issues with one another. We're a strong bonded set of friends with mutual respect towards one another with open minds. Yes they pray to Allah (SWT). I've no issue with them at all and they're all nice, and respectable individuals.

Please answer this question with respect. I would very much appreciate if you try not bash the topic in a rude manner as it's only a question to be discussed, not debated.

Salam,
Aisha.

The main reason for homosexuality is one of the biggest sins, is because it is what God has decided to. When God created Adam, He created Eve, not a male so that’s why there is today many boys and girls. And it is also against nature that sin. Remember a story when there’s a town, and there was a lot is sinful people including gays? And when God saw it, He became angry at those people and He destroyed them as a punishment because of their evil doers.

Everyone has their own test in this life. Some with illness, some with appearance, some with poverty, etc. EVERYONE. A poor person can say "life isn't fair" because they can't do the things that rich people can. But that doesn't mean he should go rob a bank, or commit haram acts. If a person is a Muslim, they will accept Allah's decree. We don't live for our desires, we live to serve Allah. A person doesn't have to feel miserable just because they are single. There are single straight people too who cannot get married. I don't really see any unfairness when we're all tested. At the end of the day, it's each individual's choice what they want to do or not. We have free choice. But as a Muslim, we should be choosing that which brings us closer to Allah swt and understand that there's nothing we can't overcome no matter how difficult it is.

This 100%

Here is a great book on refuting not only homosexuality but also "homosexualism". The latter is a political ideology which wants to promote and defend homosexual behavior, and is intensely anti-Religion, particularly anti-Islam. The homosexualist movement views Islam as its greatest threat.

I downloaded this ebook before they decided to sell it. Its a very good read, more for the intellectually inclined. Some may think it is harsh or hateful in tone, but that is totally understandable, especially given the fact that gay political and social activists are absolutely vicious in their attacks on Islam and Muslims, therefore a harsh response was befitting.

Salam,

Greetings dear Aisha.

First, think-"why did God created male and female for?" the answer is: because thats whats how He decreed To do. And when He decreed like this, then He has decreed to forbid and declared marrying man with man as a major and shameful sin and a punishable one, because if one practices homsexuality, then he has disturbed the nature, because it is not how God left things to be, and if one commits homosexuality, then he has committed an injust act. And when a person thinks that he was gay since he was born, then thats means Satan has strong influence over that person and makes him think that it is natural to be gay when in reality it is not natural, only thing the person needs to cure himself from evil wispers is by reciting this "I seek refuge from God against the devil" many times as he feels the need of protection until the evil wispers will leave him alone.

In my opinion, it is bad for a girl to hang out with boys, because any bad thing can happen such as: kissings(zina) and other things(I dont know what). But, if you want to talk with boys, you better ask a scholar for this because I know that Quran has taught men and women how to befriend together in halal way.

All I land everyone else really knows about Lot/Lut and Sodom and Gomorrah is that the Hebrew Bible and the Qur'an have stories about them. If those cities actually existed is not clear, and why they were destroyed is also not clear.

The reasons are also given in those scripture accounts.

And while for muslims following Islam and will of Allah is without doubt the most important thing, even if homosexuality wasn't mentioned a sin, majority of muslims would still abhor and despise it, because part of the hatred for homosexuality is driven by pure disgust for the act.

I used to despise homosexuality and was disgusted the very first time I heard, and at that time I was secular and didn't even read the Quran.

Islam doesn't concern orientation

"Do you get rewarded for other that what yo do?"

That said, orientation is not an issue. The thing is homosexuals sometimes make it a public issue themselves.

God forbade any lewd act, and urges you to curb your lust.
"Verily succeeded he who corrected his self" and "Verily succeeded the believers...those who are preservers of their loins. Except for their wives and their female-servers as then they are not blamed"
Further, any lewd act toward your Mahrams (mostly consanguines) are strictly prohibited.
