Re: reversion help, finally some people to talk to!

:sl:
I went to a Mosque in Sneinton today, to go to those classes I was talking about before. It was great, and, insha'Allaah, I will go there every Monday.
:w:
Did you meet new people who could in time become your friends?

Re: reversion help, finally some people to talk to!

AsalamuAlaykum,

Please keep in mind that a person cannot be named by an attribute of God alone, but the attribute must be preceded with 'Abd' meaning 'servant'. eg 'Rahman' should be 'Abdur Rahman', 'Aziz' should be 'Abdul Aziz' The 'Abd..' should not be treated as a name in itself, eg 'Abdul' does not make sense as a name on it's own.

Re: reversion help, finally some people to talk to!

assalaamu alaykum fishman,

which mosque was it? i know that bit of nottingham slightly as a friend used to live in a mosque with flats above it, everyone called it '21' as that was the number of the street but cant remember the name of the street!?!

give your parents time, if they want to talk then give them things to think about and then leave them to it, that is an approach i have used with my own parents when trying to give them da'wah (spead the islamic message), tell them something to make them think.

are you in touch with notts new muslim project now?
the brothers there are well balanced which is good.

take care little brother, may Allah keep you strong upon this deen, Ameen.

assalaamu alaykum,
Daw'ud

Its called Jamia Masjid Sultania, I think. It doesn't have flats on top though, it's two story.

I think that since I told my friend about my conversion, he's become more religious! I hardly ever see him listening to rap anymore, or saying rude things. He even stuck a paper 'badge' inside his school blazer, that says 'brothers of Islam', and wants to get them for more people, incuding me.

mashallah, that is good and to be expected. whenever someone sees a revert they feel good regarding themselves and perhaps start to ask questions why they dont take the deen so seriously!

Just something funny I heard once.
:w:
I was wondering the same thing.
Come on, Fishman ... if you use it as your signature in a public forum like this, it must be worth a story! :)

Something Homer said on the Simpsons. Not that I watch it anymore, but it was still quite funny. Insha'Allaah I will get a better signature soon!

assalaamu alaykum,

which other forum?

you referring to sunni forum or upon sunnah?

sunni forum i left because was sick of arguing with innovators and then when successfully refuted them would have my posts deleted and the thread closed and therefore leaving their arguments unanswered and that they looked to been successful in the debate.

upon sunnah is too rich, i only have annolgue connection at home so i do occassionally go on it when got time at work and is a good site mashallah but i cant use it very well from home.

assalaamu alaykum,
Daw'ud

what can i do!

my eldest nephew is 6yrs old, and we put the strain on him to look after my other small nephews, but lately i know he is getting bullied by older boys or boys who have older brother around our block! my sister always stresses at him to toughen up and i think he is but he cant fight boys who are double his size! :rollseyes i think this might cause other problems, as we constantly have a go at him to not be afraid of them! we try and not to get into it and let him fight his own battles but at end of the day he's still our baby and you cant help sticking up for him! what would be usefull? :heated:
