Hi, my real life name is Faris. I am 16 years old, from the UK, and interested in gaining more knowledge in Islam. My freind stumbled across this forum and told me instantly and we are both devoted muslims.
My hobbies are cricket, and playing video games and socialising with freinds and debating. I registered here as I find the refutations section quite interesting and hope to find out more from the rest of this site. This summer I am going to play cricket and chill with freinds and play PC Games, so if anyone plays halo Im up for a round. I like debating, so if I stay on your case, dont take it personally, I go through great trouble to prove my point :)
I chose I R PAKI because its my gamer tag, I hope the admins dont change it because I want everyone to know I am of pakistani ethnic. Also, is this a forum that is just sunni based or shia' based or wahhabi based or.. ?

No sectarian issues allowed. We are promoting the unity of Islam. Allah (Exalted is He) said in Surah Al-An'âm, verse 159:

Verily, those who divide their religion and break up into sects (all kinds of religious sects), you (O Muhammad -- Peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) have no concern in them in the least. Their affair is only with Allâh, Who then will tell them what they used to do. 15% warning

Stick to just Islam no sects inshaAllah :)

Welcome to the forum young one… you seem more proud of being a Pakistani then a Muslim, there’s nothing wrong with it but I think you should focus on your Imaan than your traditions and culture even though the prophet (pbuh) said you were put into tribes to get to know each other, I think on the day of judgement Allah (swt) will question your Imaan more than where your parents were born! Just some wise advice…

In Islam though there are many sources, there will always be differences of opinion also so be careful what you learn do some research and follow your school of thought… and this is for all our Muslim brothers and sisters out there…

Actually theres a difference of opinion on this matter, Wahabi is Sunni BUT they do tend to do certain things very strictly:

Wahhabism (Arabic: الوهابية, Wahabism, Wahabbism) is a Sunni fundamentalist Islamic movement, named after Muhammad ibn Abd al Wahhab (1703–1792). It is the dominant form of Islam in Saudi Arabia and Qatar. Many members of the movement object to the term 'Wahhabism'.

Sunni Muslims are the largest denomination of Islam. They are referred to as Ahl ul-Sunna (Arabic: أهل السنة), the folks of the tradition. The word Sunni comes from the word sunna (Arabic : سنة ) which means the tradition of the Prophet of Islam Muhammad. Sunnis are also referred to as Ahl ul-Sunna wa-l-Jama'ah (Arabic: أهل السنة والجماعة) (people of tradition and congregation) which is meant to imply that the Sunnis are united. Sunni (Arabic: سني ) means follower of the sunna of the Prophet, with some details.

Man, why does everyone think Im stupid because Im not so old, I dislike this. Sorry , but I have a short temper :\. Dont worry, Im proud of being both, I have a muslim clan on Halo and we are 2nd best in the world - its called Jihad]. You seem to assume things too suddenly, because I am young and referring to myself as PAKI :\, hence the reason I came here to learn and understand more, theres a large knowledge base from Muslims all over the world and of different ethnic backgrounds, and I hope to try to understand from all of them, and them combine the knowledge. Please.. dont assume things, I just got here . -.-

Ok brother i think you got the wrong end of the stick I was only being humourous, i have no idea how old you are and its just an expression, theres a hadith where the prophet (pbuh) said keep your imaan strong but also seek entertainment to please your heart and everyone elses (al-bukhari).

I dont intend any offence to you or your feelings, but only wise advice, like you say you are hear to gain knowledge and i feel i can help you as i do everyone else... Im not a scholar but im knowledgable enough to answer what i can.

BTW whats a Halo!? and what jihad got to do with anything!?

One thing in Islam you should do is control your temper the prophet (pbuh) disliked temper, meditation can cure this.

Remember one thing though it doesnt matter where your from being if your pakistanic, indian, bengali etc... if you require knowledge then its about Islam as one ummah... if you require information about other religions then its good, reading the old testament (bible) is a good start. learning other ethnic groups isnt based on islam thats more traditional stuff... do you understand whereim coming from?

KK ty, halo is a PC game. and Jihad] is just then name of the clan just for muslims in the game.
