[MAD]I start a thread about Guns and the swarm Gathers!!:? [/MAD]

Alright, back on topic. On the philosophical point, I believe that a well-armed civilian population tend to make it much more difficult for any enemy force, whether it be foreign or domestic. Not to mention that it is a right promised to us in the Constitution.

This thread has been here for 42 posts now. If I am counting correctly only 2 replies have been in regards to either the pro or con of gun control. It is fine to have fun and engage in non-constructive debate. But, reserve it for the appropriate sections.

Thank You and back to TOPIC:

Guns don't kill people, people kill people!

We need people control!

We must cage bad people and never let them free.

The consequence for firing a non-licensed firearm should be a life sencence, I hear that's how it is in Britain and much of Europe.

Does a Phaser also count ? :D
:sl:
Don't steal the fish's jokes!

I do think that we should be allowed to defend ourselves when we are attacked, except not with guns. that's not reasonable force, that's deadly.

Guns don't kill people, people kill people!
So don't let the people have guns!
:w:

Doesn't that seem a bit harsh? How about if you fire a firearm with the intent to murder? That sounds more reasonable for a life sentence.

Harsh sentencing prevents future crime.

Arrest a couple of guys, make them an example, save tons of lives in prevented future crimes!

MAKE AN EXAMPLE!!!!!

agreed, i wish we could shoot every rapist :(

its not wimpy. wimpy are the men who are afraid to handle a gun.

whos afraid to pull a trigger? u make me laugh!

i understand what u mean, but i wudnt be scared to kill a man who deserves to die :)
i cant judge who deserves to die, but i'd kill anyone who tries to kill me or my family :)

This is more like it....

Sword fighting takes longer....

Well, I've heard in the documentary Bowling for Columbine that there are an estimated 400 Million guns in the United State alone. That's 25% more guns than people, a tough mission for gun control, and its HUGE business.

i want to be part of this business :D

i'm just saying that killing with a gun is faster and less messy. it's the more advanced method of killing

not really, you chop a mans head off and a lot of blood comes out, you shoot a man in the head and a lot of blood comes out. Both must be buried, cleaning of blood is done overnight by an unknown entity ;D

Exactly, death is death.

Guns are just modern swords.

To be HONEST:

I want a gun because the police are heavily armed, and I don't trust the police.

For as long as police carry arms, man won't trust him. Period!

Gimme my GUN or gimme Death!

Nope, not all of us do. I no longer even own a gun. But, that is because now I live in Austin and have no need for one. In my prior residence, it was a necessary tool. It was not uncommon to step outside the door and bee face to face with a rabid coyote or to find a bob cat killing my chickens or to have any of a number of wild animals in very inappropriate places.

In my entire life, I can not recall a time I did not carry a firearm, until my recent move to Austin. During my entire life I never had to use a firearm against another human, except during my time in the military and I didn't own it, it was government issued.

If all people had the sense to behave as rational human beings, there would be no need for any fire arms control. I'm still not sold on the idea of gun control, I believe fire arms instruction coupled with sound morality teachings would be the better choice, if that is possible.

On a personal note, a fire arm is good as a pre planned weapon, but it is often useless as a self defence tool without proper training and discipline.
