Some firsthand information about Shaykh Shuraim from brother Abdullah Saood:
ABDULLAH says:
well from my experience he is one of the most god fearing imams
the general consensus among the people is that he could be a khalifa of the muslims
he is mashallah very knowledgeable and a real lover of the quran and sunnah
he also has a very big heart
in ramadhan he used to bring camels milk and meat from his house and give it to the guards outside and take some inside too
he told me he only sleeps one-two hours a day
Ahmed says:
How does he spend his time?
ABDULLAH says:
well its split into - being imam/praying/attending to family and friends
his businesses include property and he owns a lot of camels
he lives in Al Awali in makkah
he is a supporter of the taliban
as he thinks they brought back the times of the Prophet (peace be upon him) as they were very strict in sunnah
he is a very private person and does not like all the attention
he laughs very little and is a very serious man
a truly amazing personality
Ahmed says:
Does he have any students?
ABDULLAH says:
yes as he teaches at Umm Ul Qura now
I dont think he has any private students only the ones at Uni
Ahmed says:
I used to think that SAS and SS were brothers
ABDULLAH says:
yeah alot of people do but they are very good friends
I know shaykh shuraims personal attendant in makkah
his name is Sarwar Hussain - he cleans his room, makes him tea etc
he has told me lot of things about him -- including that he speaks english

may Allah bless the sheikh. there just seems to be this sense of humbleness around him..
 
he sleeps just 1-2 hours a day??
then how does he do all these jobs?
a life dedicated to islam.....

well when my friend told Shikeh Shuraim about me in front of him in his office at UQUniversity that ppl call me shiekh shuraim becoz I copy him he smiled and looked at me from him glasses !!! THAT LOOK FROM HIM FOR ONE SEC WAS MILLION YEARS FOR ME and I cant tell u what was the feeling... I consider him as the BEST SCHOLAR IMAM everything..and I LOVE HIM....if I wud have known the fact that he can speak english I wud have talked to him directly !!! :(

I planed to write a FULL story but cudnt do it so I thought I shud add things...

do u think SS (ha) will remember me? I spent 20 mins talking to him in his room but he was bz in signing papers but he finally looked me when the guy was telling ALOT about me ...that the guy alos does this this and that !!!

thanks to that FRIEND of mine !!

once again I LOVE SS(ha) sorry If I getting over !! but I do !!

I wish he cud know this one day !!

Jazakallah Khair for sharing the stories. Had you been to Umm Al-Qura University?

There was slight rain today in Haram after Jumuah.
Shaikh Saleh lead the Asr from the Taraweeh spot.
Shaikh Sudais lead Maghrib from near the Ka'bah and recited ayat from Surah Al-Ahzab.

That was amazing brother Abdullah Saood, and jazakallah khair for sharing brother Al Madani. SubhanAllah...he only sleep 1-2 hours a day, even out of Ramadan? MashaAllah. :cry:

Ohh, they're back to the normal leading area...behind the maqaam Ibrahim. He read from the end of Surah Tawbah.

also does anyone know "do girls study at UQU?are there female scholars for them to teach or they are taught by male scholars?"

yes they can. youd need your mahram though. the uni for females and males are in two totally different directions. umm bakkah.net has some info on that.

Yes, today was not very very bad, but there is nevertheless some defects on sound. I see this problem just in Saudi 1, but in Saudi 2 it's really good sound.

I think that some days they does not configure the sound correctly in Saudi 1, because sometimes the sound on channel 1 is good, wa Allahu a'lam

reciting surah qariah and qureish
haram looking beautiful mashallah:)
seems that hujjaj have gone back
