I especially recommend it for people whom I see often reacting to posts of upsetting nature...
and 2nd book called http://www.amazon.com/Female-Brain-Louann-Md-Brizendine/dp/0767920090/sr=1-1/qid=1171915403/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/104-7154778-1573519?ie=UTF8&s=books

fantastic read, highly recommend it, especially if you want to know how men and women have different circuitry.. you see how testesterone during embryological development shoots to frontal brain in men, and how women's hippocampus is more devloped than men, it is the part of the brain responsible for language and emotions and consolidation of memory. Frontal brain is responsible for executive decisions. The doc who wrote the book will have another one out soon the counterpart of this entitled the male-brain...

this last book is also good but I don't give it great ratings only because the author, though lebanese in origin seems to have been influenced greatly by anti ADHD medication. I don't recommend that anyone who reads and thinks whoa that is me to just go running to the doc for a prescription of methylphenidate.. but I do believe that you can modify your behavior greately just by understanding the nature of your emotions and setting your mind to really control your mind....
thank you

People should buy it in order to really learn how to pray.

:sl:

It's more so a book to perfect your prayer as to how the prophet Muhammed sallah Allah alayhi wa sallam prayed Insha'Allah.

I recommend the Sealed Nectar and the wives of the Prophet (saw)

If anybody is into crime fiction, be sure to check out Jeffery Deaver. He is an absolute genius, IMO.

Oh, and Shakespeare wouldn't go amiss either. :p Great stuff.

In the Belly of the Whale

In the noble Qur'an, we read that Yunus (p) "cried through the darkness." He realized that Almighty Allah, not he, was in control of things.

He cries out, "there is no god but You," and asks for help. In asking for help, his prayer is heard.

There is a very beautiful book, called Stories of the Prophets, written in the Middle Ages by Hafez ibn Kathir. It is easily available and well worth reading. In it, Ibn Kathir has a moving commentary on this part of Yunus's story.

He says that once Yunus admits that there is no god but Allah and that only Allah can save him, something wonderful happens.

First, the whale begins to sing the praises of Allah, then all the little fish around it, then all the creatures of the sea, each in its own way, until there is a great chorus of praise.

The whale swims up to the surface and ejects Yunus onto the shore. Just as Allah had used it to save Yunus from the storm and from drowning in the sea, so He also uses it to bring Yunus safely to land again.

By Dr.Naaha Ibrahim, Asim Abdul Maajid & Essam-ud-Deen Darbaalah.

In this book the authors outlined a complete methodology for Islamic work in this day. From Aqeedah to Dawah to Jihad to Khilafah and Taqwa to Sabr, they have explained how all of these parts come together for the sole objective of every Muslim to seek the pleasure of Allah.
