Sorry. Yes I can see now that the first part of your post may have been responding to Woodrow though it wasn't obvious at the time. The second part of your post seemed; however, to be ridiculing those who found Removed's comments offensive.

Something about Removed's comment about the "demented, and mentally disturbed, Americn nutters" set me off. I made an assumption in regard to your post. The internet is an imperfect means of communication. My mistake.

Just in case some have forgotten, the former Iraqi government, which was displaced by the US attack, was no friend of the weak. A bestial regime is replaced by an elected Iraqi government and an imperfect occupation. Of course, this doesn't matter..does it? Because the war was "illegal"

He was a monster even by the standards of Saddam Hussein's Iraq, a sadist with a taste for cruelty so extreme that even his father was forced to acknowledge that his first-born son would not be a worthy heir.
And yet for all that Uday Saddam Hussein symbolised the brutality of the Iraqi regime, his powers were severely circumscribed. Although he retained the privileges of the much-indulged son of a dictator, he was shunted from the real centres of power in the military and security services by his quieter, younger brother Qusay.

Although Uday nominally had a role in politics - following his election to parliament with 99% of the vote in 1999 - he was studiously absent from Iraqi television during the dying days of the regime.

It was clear controllers realised that showing too many pictures of the most hated man in Iraq was hardly going to spur resistance.

It was not the life that Uday had intended. Of Saddam's two sons, he was the flamboyant one - towering well over 6ft, with a penchant for fast cars and loud and drunken parties, expensive suits and flowing robes, as well as murder, rape and torture.

His public duties ranged from the Iraqi Olympic Committee and the national football team, to Babel, supposedly an independent newspaper, and Shabab, or youth television, to the Iraqi Photographers' Association. He also was in charge of the dreaded Saddam Fedayeen militia.

For those unfortunate enough to have strayed across his path, Uday's reasons for taking on such a public life were pathetic: he wanted to build a public profile in preparation for taking over from Saddam.

The search for public approbation appears to have taken over in the mid-1980s when Uday first took a close interest in sport. Footballers say he never really understood or showed much interest in the game itself, but was desperate enough for a win that he would phone up the dressing room during half-time to threaten to cut off players' legs and throw them to ravenous dogs.

As football overseer, Uday kept a private torture scorecard, with written instructions on how many times each player should be beaten on the soles of his feet after a particularly poor showing.

He also carried a grudge. "Once you came to Uday's notice, he never left you alone. The only time I managed to get away from his eyes was when I went outside Iraq," star performer Habib Jaffar told the Guardian last April.

Uday's excesses carried over in his private life where he had a reputation for ordering any girl or woman who caught his eye to be brought to his private pleasure dome.

The palace, a bad taste Arabian nights fantasy, was decorated with indoor fountains and erotic murals and was in the grounds of his father's presidential estate. A nearby chamber contained huge stashes of drugs as well as an HIV testing kit, according to US forces.

He is also reported to have operated an even more private torture chamber on the banks of the Tigris.

But his brutality finally caught up with him. In 1988 he bludgeoned to death his father's bodyguard Kamal Hana Jajo in front of horrified partygoers.

He also shot one of his uncles in the leg. The murder, shootings, and other erratic behaviour put him in permanent disfavour with Saddam. He was briefly exiled to Switzerland and, while he was allowed to return to Iraq, he was never again deemed suitable for succession.

Uday's marriages were a further source of embarrassment to his father.

His two brief dynastic liaisons - with the daughters of a senior Ba'ath party aide of Saddam and an uncle - were dissolved after Uday beat up his brides.

His remove from power grew even greater in 1996 when gunmen fired on his red Porsche as it sped through the streets of Baghdad. The attack left the scion of Saddam able to walk only with great difficulty.

It also appears to have deepened his rage against his fellow Iraqis. Sports figures in Iraq say he had come to see his duties at the Olympic committee only as a source of ready cash. His cruelty, already legendary, deepened.

One of the guards replied, "This is the chance of your life" and promised she would receive diamonds and a car. "All you have to do is go up there for 10 minutes," he urged. When she demurred again, the bodyguards pursued Uday's backup plan. They maneuvered the girl in the direction of the parking lot, picked her up and carried her to the backseat of Uday's car, covering her mouth to muffle her screams.

After three days the girl was returned to her home, with a new dress, a new watch and a large sum of cash. Her parents had her tested for rape; the result was positive. According to Shabaan's account, Uday heard she had been tested and sent aides to the clinic, where they warned doctors not to report a rape. Furious, the father demanded to see Saddam himself. Rebuffed, he kept complaining publicly about what Uday had done. After three months, the President's son had had enough. He sent two guards to the man to insist that he drop the matter. It would be very hard to get conclusive proof of any actual incidents in a country that had a father in power as a dictator.

Well then what makes anything anyone says true? Its all just hearsay. Why is it that in sharia a certain number of witnesses can be proof, yet this number is not good enough for you against someone that was so obviously a torturer of our brothers and sisters?

In 2007, I wouldn't have thought it possible, but yes, there is at least one Uday supporter.

I have actually seen the video described in this report. It was on the Public Broadcasting System program called Frontline. No human being could watch this documentary and fail to be convinced of the irredeemable evil of Uday Hussein. Compared to him Saddam was like a friendly ice cream salesman. They were both sociopaths, but Saddam was smarter (but certainly no genius) and not quite as impulsive.

Oh yes...though not mentioned in this report...the women are dressed, shall I say, in an unislamic fashion.


THE BIRTHDAY PARTY TAPE

One of the most memorable tapes is of a birthday celebration. When the drunken Uday becomes bored with sullen dancing girls, he pulls out a machine gun and starts shooting in the air in time with the beat from the band. When that palls, he fires at champagne bottles with his pistol and orders one of his flunkies to throw beer bottles in the air for him to shoot at with an assault rifle. For fun, he aims a few rounds over the heads of his guests, some of whom throw themselves on the ground in terror, only to arise laughing and clapping at the prank, and, no doubt, in relief at still being alive. Uday then finishes off the party by shooting directly over the heads of the band members, who amazingly, keep playing. The keyboard player crouches behind his instrument, still pounding the keys, as Uday shoots up the HAPPY BIRTHDAY sign hung at head level across the stage. When he runs out of bullets, Uday shakes hands with the frightened singer, and just to show he’s a good sport, tells the keyboard player: “See all those holes? All those bullets could be in your belly.” Then he laughs.

In all of the birthday party tapes, the only person who seems to enjoy himself is Uday. Everyone else, including the band, seems petrified with fear. Most of his guests are women, who dance together listlessly as everyone keeps an eye on the guest of honor. In the video showcasing his 32nd birthday in 1996, he hands an AK-47 to a young boy, and helps him fire shots in the air. The highlight of that event: when the fireworks set the brush and lawn next to his house on fire.

Now, from the thread which started, what was so hate filled that it does not deserve to be put up? Was it the case that the American soldiers should in my opinion have been given the death penalty? Was it because it brought out the true colours of SOME of the American soldiers that are supposedly spreading democracy and trying to bring freedom to the Iraqi people.

Second point - How is what I said so venemous? Is wishing for the death penalty as is the case in Iraq and law of the land venemous or just justice. Seeing that they took the life of a young girl after raping her and then killing her familiy the least they desrver is the death penalty.

Third point, how and where did i say all American soldiers are the same or that all americans are the same? Find the quotes and dont just make comments up. Find the quote and i will apologise and if so resign from teh forum? I will wiat for this one, because it is the second time consegnetti has made a vile lie about me!

fourth and final point to consegnetti. What made you think that i have or am buddys with the likes of 7/11 bombers. Ill tell you straight i condemn their actions. Iraq under Saddam was secular.

To illegaly invade ones country is bad enough, but to intentionally rape a girl and kill her family and then try to cover it up is sick and deserves punishment, whether it be from the iraqis or the us government. And the punishment should be no less than death. At least the Britsh troops have abit of morals, unlike some of the demented, and mentally disturbed, Americn nutters.
