700-year-old copy of Koran restored

XINING, China, Feb. 25 (UPI) -- Experts in China have restored a 700-year-old copy of the Koran, the sacred book of Islam.

The state-run news agency Xinhua reported that the two-volume, 867-page set is the oldest known in China and is written in Arabic.

The ancient copy of the Koran is believed to have been brought to China about 700 years ago when the Salar ethnic group moved east from Uzbekistan. Experts believe it was written some time between the eighth and 13th centuries.

Because the book is handwritten by Arabian Muslims, it is believed to be of great value as a research tool. All other ancient copies of the Koran that exist in China were written by Chinese Muslims, Xinhua reported.

SUBHAN\'ALLAH!!!!!!!!!! Truly Allah perfects his light, although the disbelievers may not like it!!!!!!!!!

:w:

i meant for the non-muslim media brainwashed people, at least this way they'll believe us.

the evidence we already have just isnt enough for some people.

:salamext:

There are much other evidence that shows the truth and authenticity of Islam but it seems that desire is in control.

[Even if We did send unto them angels, and the dead did speak unto them, and We gathered together all things before their very eyes, they are not the ones to believe, unless it is in Allah's plan. But most of them ignore (the truth)] (6:111).

How is it going to be of great value as a research tool? Is the hand written copy of Quran any different from other copies, as far as the verses and their meanings are concerned?

Ohh, Thanks for that, Fi. ^-^

I'm assuming they mean historically. Sorta of like finding any kind of artifact.

Actually, we can't. Imagine if there is a mistake in it... which could have occurred due to a error on behalf of the person making the copy, or it might have been intention... I can imagine some fools will try to use it as a sign that the Quran might have been changed...

Anyway, even if it is the same, it is still not evidence because there is only one authoritative copy- the one complied by the sahabah.

It is of more Historical significance. The next thing is Arabic Calligraphy is a very complex art form and it seems to be almost an impossibility for 2 writers to write it the same. However, all hand written copies no matter how old are identical. That is like saying two artists painted the same picture, and both are the same down to the pressure of each brush stroke. But, here there are very many hand written copies of the Qur'an and they are all the same.
