The Beaver Tail we eat is a pastry. It's like a large, sweetened waffle that you top with a variety of things like blueberries, strawberries, etc. They are VERY, VERY good.

Not to worry, you won't see a bunch of tailess beavers running around Canadian rivers and ponds.

It is not sweet actually...it is bitter + sour + sweet but the sweetness you can hardly taste it...but you can taste it ( i hope i'm making sense...lol).

and you cannot find it in shops...only on trees. (they don't usually sell it commercially. and i don't really know why. )

and we have two type of thick soy sauce, one is sweet and the other is salty.

In South Louisiana the people are referred to as Cajuns. They are famous for their cooking and the fact that they have a recipe for anything that does not eat them first. We were long under the impression that they were Canadian French that were exiled to Louisiana as that was French territory.

Now, reading the stuff that you people eat, I am beginning to think they came from Malaysia.

I've actually had jack fruit , canned in syrup but never fresh. I just looked them up on google. But. I will let you tell about that amazing fruit.

Cempedaks and durians are different... the cempedak has a very sweet smell.. that's why it's not prohibited in the hotels etc....
