Islamic Council receives death threat

The head of a Muslim group said that his Southfield office received a letter this week that said “our goal is to terminate all Muslims in the greater Detroit area.”

Dawud Walid, director of the Michigan branch of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, said he was concerned about the handwritten letter, which also contained a negative cartoon of Islam’s prophet, Mohammed.

“Death: To Islam – Religion of Satan!!!” reads part of the letter above the cartoon. The headline read: “Zionism Forever!!!”

Walid said that FBI agents visited the office today.

The office has gotten hate mail in the past, but this is the first death threat they have received, Walid said.
