I remember hearing that durig one ofmy animw watching sessions. But don't remember what it means.

arigato = Thank you, or they also sometimes say sankeh [which I absolutely adore]

konichwa = Hello

Desu or desuka are usually said after sentences due to respect or something like that. I don't know what jenki is though.

:w:

^Ah okay. I won't. I just need someone to teach me japjap. And you're going to do it.

I love Japanese! Here's something:

Konnichi wa, watashi wa Skywalker desu. Hajimemashte.

-translation: Hello, I'm Skywalker, nice to meet you! lol

I'm an anime fan myself, so I always like picking up lines here and there.

lol, that one always cracks me up!

Anyways, the original creator of this thread wanted a japanese partner or something...you can go to the site www.japanese-online.com and they can hook you up with a pen pal or something. They also give free online lessons (that's where I got that first line :P). Check it out!

Harun: You can only be something if you want to be it.

Is there any link/software in your knowledge that transliterates japjap?

Any statement ending in 'ka', like "Anata wa nihonjin desu" means "You are Japanese" while "Anata wa nihonjin desuka" means "Are you Japanese?"

it amazes me here in japan.

they have toilets that do all sorts of things but they also have squaters.

Imagine a toilet in the ground that you have to squat over to do you business... ugh. i hate them...
I enjoy those nice western sitters.

Hai! Watashi ha _Establishment Desu!

^_^ Ok, Here Is Some Basic Japanese For Everyone:

Watashi ha {Your Name} Desu - I Am {Your Name}
(Wat-ash-ee-wha {Name} Des)

Eigo Ga Hanasemaksuka? - Do You Speak English?
(Eeh-Go Gah Han-ase-ehm-ack-sooka)

Sayonara
- Goodbye
(Sai-yoh-nah-rah)

Ogenki Desuka? - How Are You?
(Oh-Gehn-keeh Des-ooh-kah)

Genki Desu - Im Fine
(Gehn-kee Des)

Wakarimasen
- I Dont Understand
(Wahk-ar-eem-assen)

Hajimema****e - Means Like.. Nice To Meet You
(Hai-jeeh-Mee-Mash-{i}-teh)
You Cant Always Hear The 2nd I, Especially When Someone Is Talking Super Fast Japanese!

The Japanese Is 100% Correct Spelling, And I Know A Fair Bit More.

こんいちはみんな、僕の名前はKBAです
僕が日本語を六月に習う

I've been studying for about 6 months now

I am not fluent, but at least proficient, and I know at least 1,000 words and the Hiragana and Katakana symbols, along with about 40 kanji.

It's difficult to learn though for a native English speaker, especially the Kanji :/

erm arigato - jenki desuka and erm kinichua

They are definately japanese, i duno what they mean though.
arigatou = thank you

genki desu ka = how are you? (saying "o genki desu ka" will be for politeness/to show honour to a person, like for a person older than you)

konnichiwa = good afternoon

ohiyo gozaimasu = good morning (or you can just say "ohiyo" meaning 'morning')

Any statement ending in 'ka', like "Anata wa nihonjin desu" means "You are Japanese" while "Anata wa nihonjin desuka" means "Are you Japanese?"

Aye the 'ka' indicates a question.

:w:
genki literally means 'health', but when you say 'o genki desu ka" it means 'how are you"

Like haal (in arabic) literally means 'state' but when you say "kayfa haaluk" then it means "how are you"
