STARTS SEPTEMBER 11

The inaugural ICC Twenty20 World Championships takes place in South Africa in September and cricket fans around the globe are already looking forward to what should be an exhilarating event.

With the white ball flying in all directions as batsmen swing the willow with devastating abandon, who could blame them? It’s thrill-a-minute cricket and the ICC has taken the popular decision to bring this game to a world audience.

A Twenty20 game is completed in about three hours, with each innings lasting around 75 minutes, thus bringing the game closer to the timespan of other popular team sports such as football. It was introduced to create a lively form of the game which would be attractive to spectators at the ground and viewers on television and as such has been very successful.

Re: ICC Twenty 20 World Cup South Africa

This kind of game is the most unpredictable :-\
never know, a team like Kenya might just win.

I like India to win....

also

I like South Africa to win...

hope atleast one happens....(Both can win and share the trophy.. if a tie occurs in the final)

If you don't know, there can't be a Tie in a Twenty20 match :) If the scores are levelled at the end, there will be something like the penalty shootout, where each bowler will bowl at the stumps without a batsman. 2 or 5 balls each, who hits most will win.

Tsk discrimination.

.... me voted for South Africa .... they havent won a big event yet.. hope they try to win this time.. with the home crowd support..

^Having pity on them? Just coz they didn't win any yet, you are supporting them? lol.
Did you know if a bowler bowls a foot-fault no ball, the next ball will be a free hit one.
24.2 Free Hit after a foot-fault no ball
In addition to the above, the delivery following a no ball called for a
foot fault (Law 24.5) shall be a free hit for whichever batsman is facing
it. If the delivery for the free hit is not a legitimate delivery (any kind
of no ball or a wide ball), then the next delivery will become a free hit
for whichever batsman is facing it.
For any free hit, the striker can be dismissed only under the
circumstances that apply for a no ball, even if the delivery for the free
hit is called wide ball.
Field changes are permitted for free hit deliveries (the provisions of
clause 41.2 shall apply).

Yes i do know dis rule.... but if he is run out on the free delivery... thats the worst kinda of dismisl for a batsman..
