I need help regarding United States

Assalam Aleikum.

I'm Drilon and i've registered here only to pose this question.

I'm traveling, inshAllah, with my brothers tu United States with a program called Work and Travel wich is provided by CIEE (i don't know if this is popular in US, anyway). I just want to be more safe and ask my brothers and sisters where are (sunnih) muslims located in the United States. Which states are more populated with muslims. I'd appriciate your help, brothers and sisters.

Hopefully i have posted this matter on the right place.

Most big cities have significant muslim populations. Chicago, Detroit, Dallas, Washington DC, lots of places. If you have a specific city in mind, plus it into http://islamicfinder.org/ and find a list of mosques in the city. They usually provide email addresses, so you can contact them to get more specific information about the area.
 
Salams akhi. May I ask what specific state your planing on going to or just whichever one you wish to go to??

Honestly, when I go to Asia, my first question will certainly not be: Where can I meet caucasians?

I have already chosen that place and can't change it. i have also found a islamic center or such, wich is 10 min away from my place.

Doesn't Detroit have the highest murder rate in the States?

Or did the Goonies lie to me?

If this is completely wrong and offensive to the citizens of Detroit, I wholeheartedly apologise, because I am ignorant, and because I do not wish to be shot.

Not the highest, but I believe the 6th in 2005 I believe. But still close enough.

Loooooooool subhan Allaah!

I've noticed though, especially in Southside Chicago, that it's become a ''style'' for the men of African American origin to sport sunnah beards and were their pants above their ankles. If only they could become real Muslims (inshaa Allaah).

Brother Napoleon was talking about this in a lecture and I noticed it myself as well.

As for Sunnis being in the US, it depends where you're going. Sis Janaan provided you with a really good website you should check out.
