Netherlands
Van der Sar: 6.5 – Had a busy evening and made some good stops. However, he lost the cross for Russia’s second and will be disappointed Arshavin managed to put the ball between his legs for Russia’s third.
Boulahrouz: 7.0 – Understandably he didn’t quite reach the heights of his previous performances in the tournament but the fact he was on the pitch at all deserves enormous respect. Replaced early in the second half after picking up a booking.
Ooijer: 5.0 – Holland’s defence looked suspect all evening and Ooijer struggled to contain the Russian duo Arshavin and Pavlyuchenko. Simply went missing at times.
Mathijsen: 5.0 – Along with Ooijer Holland’s centre back pairing was weak and no match for the Russian front men. Lucky to only concede three.
Van Bronckhorst: 6.0 – Didn’t offer his usual attacking threat and perhaps could have done better for the third Russian goal.
De Jong: 6.0 - Mopped up well in front of his defence which looked shaky at times but he couldn’t deny the Russians as they rushed forward relentlessly.
Engelaar: 6.0 – Along with de Jong a solid performance in the middle of the park but offered little going forwards. Sacrificed after the hour mark as the Dutch chased a goal.
Kuyt: 5.0 – Hardly had a kick in an anonymous first half and no surprise to see him replaced by van Persie at half time.
Van der Vaart: 6.5 - His set pieces were immaculate and Holland will rue their missed chances from his excellent delivery.
Sneijder: 7.5 - A wonderful free kick set up the equaliser and he looked Holland’s most dangerous, and determined, player.
Van Nistelrooy: 7.0 – Had a fairly quiet game but did what he does best with an equaliser that sent the game into extra time.
Substitutions
van Persie: 5.5 - Given the second half in place of Kuyt. Had a great chance just after coming on and put a free kick over but didn’t have the impact Holland were hoping for.
Heitinga: 5.5 - Was at fault for Russia’s first goal almost immediately after coming on and looked unconvincing.
Afellay: 6.0 - Sent on as Holland chased a goal. Certainly got involved and fizzed a low shot wide but couldn’t provide the threat required.
Russia
Akinfeev: 7.0 – Will be surprised at how little he had to do and coped comfortably with everything thrown at him.
Aniukov: 7.0 - A weak link at the back for the Russians but going forwards provided quite the threat and almost scored himself but his shot was saved.
Ignashevich: 7.5 - An excellent first half block on Sneijder and generally restricted Holland to long range shots.
Kolodin: 6.5 - A solid performance, albeit with some shaky moments. Almost scored with two shots in as many minutes at the other end of the pitch. However he picked up a booking which will ensure he misses the semi final.
Zhirkov: 7.5 – Another impressive performance from another full back who looks better going towards the opposition’s goal than near his own.
Semak: 7.0 – A solid performance by the captain who put the ball in for the opener on his 50th cap.
Zyryanov: 7.5 - A danger in and around the box all night and excellent in possession, posed Holland problems.
Semshov: 7.0 – Offered an attacking threat with some good balls threaded up to his front men.
Saenko: 7.0 - Tried to support his front men and a willing runner who tracked back well when required. A good all round midfield performance.
Arshavin: 9.0 - The Russians' star man had another excellent evening. A menace all night long and finally got the goal his performance deserved to seal the win for Russia.
Pavlyuchenko: 8.5 - Had a glorious opportunity early on but put his header over. However he made up for it by opening the scoring with a decent finish and was a constant threat.
Substitutions
Bilyaletdinov: 7.5 - Some lovely work set Zhirkov up with a great chance to finish the game in the last ten minutes. Was heavily involved as Russia tried to secure the win.

That will be the most boring game ever, two countries i hate!
i want italy to looose terribly. i hate that team; ever since world cup 06, my hatred for italy has increased dramatically. lol. i still think france desreved to win world cup 06. anyways Insha'Allah Italy wil loose against spain
