If it says halal, I'm eating it hands down... just say Bismillah because you're eating it with intentions that it is...It's hard enough to find halal food...dangg. Plus I'd believe it if it's assured by big companies like Mcdonalds or Burger king.
And there's a halal mcdonalds in southall? Wow I'm going to london ASAP.

^no its not halal, a company called hmc published an article quoating how mcd would never sell 'blessed' meat ,

why go to london, are you stupid? go to pakistan or any uae country lol, they have enough halal mcd's

In Malaysia, shops which claim to sell halal food must display Halal certificate given by the religious authority (in Malaysia it's JAKIM)... it must be renewed on yearly basis...which means every year the JAKIM officers would inspect the premises.

The consumers can obtain halal status via surfing JAKIM website or SMS..

I think other countries should do the same too...

Same in Sri Lanka. We dont eat at any restaurant unless a halal certificate is displayed. If it's not, we ask for one. If there isnt one, we walk away, simple as that. The non Muslims living there know about "this halal thing" we Muslims have and try to pass on anything as halal. Its easy to print the words on the label, so we always look for the proper certification. The halal board even publish a list what they have certified.

Aadil77 wats any UAE country? LOL there's one country called united Arab emirates (UAE) there aren't multiple UAEs

im with you there sister. If a shop, has a sign up saying Halal, Im eating from there.......as far as I am concerned Coke cola is halal. I remeber these people lie so much, about Ribena and Lucozade. Its like they have nohting better to do in there lives.

I have doubts about coke cola, there are numerous reports on the internet, and even knowing that the company is being accused of using extracts from pork in their drink for years, they havn't cleared the matter.I know some mosques in london will not permit the drink on their premises.Pepsi cola is fine so far.I now try to buy cola if it has suitable for vegetarians on it.
But in all fairness there are so many items out there to decieve us.I wont be surprised if a time comes that many will only eat or drink anything strictly home made.
:sl:
Jews drink Coke, even though their laws are stricted than the Halal food laws. Jewish organisations are also better-funded and better-organised than Muslim ones as well, so they probably haven't just got it wrong.

As for reports on the internet, the internet is worthless and wastes everybody's time. It is the least reputable journal in the world, any old liar can go and make something up and put it online.

i knowwwwww... why do people make life so difficult for us...
i always have the same problem too... even if i see a halal sign i still ask and they give me these looks once i went to this turkish kebab shop and all the people there are supposed to be muslim but Subhan'Allah i asked the guy if the meat was halal and he started laughig in my face and said yes he pointed at te saveloy sausages and said that its ok these are halal too God wont mind Astaghifirullah, i just looked at him retardedly and walked out, now everytime i walk past their shop they look and talk about me and start laughing!:cry::cry:
mean people!

i mean if it is not halal its not halal how hard is that!!!! just say so why commit extra sin as muslims?????

wa salam

:sl:

SubhanAllah Thats Soo Disgusting ,
How Low Can those people go , I wouldve Burned That Place :raging:

Wow.... Sri Lanka is cool...

In Malaysia, if I'm not mistaken...those halaal certificates have barcodes..that you can check it via SMS....it would tell you about current halaal status, the name of the restaurant and the address of it.

use ur intuition, if u have doubt dont eat their food. Even if they say "halal halal".

I once went to a so called halal restaurant with my mom. I asked if it was Halal although the sign said Halal at the door...The guy there began smiling devilishly and said suddenly, "ALHAMDULILAH, INSHAALALAH INSHALLAH..LA BAYKALLAH...yes HALAL. I dont know wat on earth his problem was :rollseyes, maybe he thought if "I show them my dhikr ability they will think its halal".:rollseyes

This man didnt even say "Asalamalaikum to us when we entered the restaurant, and I ask him a simple.."is it halal"? And he gives me a bunch of DHIKR Song? lol

I told my mom, "lets jst not eat here mom, I dont trust this guy".

My mom found the whole "LA BAYKALLAH EL HIMDILLAH...ENSHALLAH ENSHALLAH...quite amusing n strange at the same time.

grhhhhhhhhh this annoys me....if something says is HALAL its most likely to be HALAL.
BUT If any case its NOT HALAL its not your fault isit ?

and coke cola is halal!

“Leave that which makes you doubt, for that which does not make you doubt.”

“Leave that which makes you doubt, for that which does not make you doubt.”

nothing making me in doubt, as it shows its halal. If i walk into a shop, and they say there Halal but they have no signs or anything THEN ill be in doubt.

yeah shouldn't we trust the person selling it, especially if they're Muslim? I just want my food so....I WILL eat it. If I have to I'll personally take it up with the management. But I still want my food.

I mean if the person was muslim and had no Halal signs up ill be in doubt. As long as they have the Halal sings up, i dont have any doubts :)!

Re:disapointed

Brothers and sisters, as a worker of Mcdonalds, it is my duty to tell you all that the fish fillets, fish fingers and veggies are haraam as they are fried in the same oil as the chicken nuggest, chicken legends and chicken sandwices. Also the same baskets are used to fry the fish. Plus hands are not washed with the 30 minutes rule.

I have just found out, that though many fast food eateries that display the halal word on their premises, giving the clear indication that their meats used are halal, may not actually be using the correct chains of supply.
I normally always ask before I place an order if the meat is halal even if the sign says so.I did this on my recent visit to a local place in oldfield circus, greenford, and believed that I was buying in confidence,I made an issue stating I wanted an alternative soft drink to coca cola,( as many of my friends have warned me of the findings relating to the ingredients).
I was refused at first but after my brief explanation, the owner obliged and offered me an alternative.I was happy and believed that at least I have shared something of some use.

A few days later my sister was mistaken for me, and was told that they had called up the head office of coca cola and that though they will not publish thier ingredients pork extract was not used.My sister explained it had nothing to do with her and can not comment. The owner said if I thought the meat was hahal it cant be, as the slaughter houses in the uk are all owned by the jews and the meat is not halal.
The final comment,he said if your sister is so strict why doesn't she cover her head?
To which my sister though quite astounded replied maybe because she is not a muslim? This confused him even more...........
The point I am making is if I am told the food is halal, that is usually enough for me to have the confidence in what I choose to eat.I f the owner honestly believes the meat is not, why is he allowed to display the halal sign to attract custom from mor discerning customers, and the covering of the head?
We wont even go there!!!!!!!!!!!! but I wonder if a muslim girl that doesnt cover her head would have found this remark a little offensive?
I have called the halal board and they have stated his comments are not true, there is a body that governs the way halal meat is certified under strict regulations. However to warn you, a premise that displays the halal wording may not be using the full certified chain of halal suppliers.
This is very wrong as now I realise that I can be misled and there is no law to prevent a premise from stating the word halal........when in fact it may not be.

I think you simply met with a rude dude on a bad day.. when I was in England, I was surprised by the shabby treatment I received on the hands of some 'Asians'-- some with frank hatred for no apparent reason.
One guy wanted to charge me 6 pounds for a ride that costs 2. 40, and when I asked him, why the disparity he proceeded by telling me. 'It is because you are from America'.. at least he was refreshingly honest

so who knows.. I formed a very poor opinion of Britons after my brief stay there.. was really glad to be back in the states..

anyhow, hate to generalize so forgive me

peace

Many Britains are lovely.Brit asians are warm and friendly, this guy is making money from falsely advertising his food to be halal to simply retain muslim customers, when he could be honest remove the sign and would still have custom from those who are not bothered even if there was a slight drop in profits. In india some claim food is vegetarian, and egg is used which has infuriated many.In india veg means no meat fish or eggs!!!!!!!!

just beacuse a door says halal on it, we should trust and eat?

i think not, just because doors, signs, and people can be misleading and to trust a stranger who says my food is halal doesn't seem very smart... some of you say its not our fault, we asked if it was halal, he/she said yes so we ate, but every muslim should keep their eyes and minds open, we all know everything is not as simple as it appears, doing a little research before you decide to eat wont hurt you, and might save you from eating something haram and letting 40 days of salat go to waste..

theres a Chinese restaurant here that has a "halal" sign on its door, many of us muslims now know that the chicken is NOT halal, but some muslims still continue to eat there, they make themselves feel better by saying its not their fault cuz the door has halal on it...seriously r u kidding yourselves? By all means eat when u r a 100% sure, but when there is even a speck of doubt, eating it would be makrooh....
