    Hadeeth of the day (OP)

As salaam alekum ( Peace be upon you)

Hadeeth means the words, actions, approval or attributes that have been narrated from the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).

    Narrated Muawiya bin Suwald:

I heard Al-Bara' bin 'Azib saying, "The Prophet (S.A.W) orders us to do seven things and prohibited us from doing seven other things." Then Al-Bara' mentioned the following:--

    (1) To pay a visit to the sick (inquiring about his health),

    (2) to follow funeral processions,

    (3) to say to a sneezer, "May Allah be merciful to you" (if he says, "Praise be to Allah!"),

    (4) to return greetings,

    (5) to help the oppressed,

    (6) to accept invitations,

    (7) to help others to fulfill their oaths.

Hazrat Shaddad bin Aus (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) said, "A wise man is the one who calls himself to account (and refrains from doing evil deeds) and does noble deeds to benefit him after death; and the foolish person is the one who subdues himself to his temptations and desires and seeks from Allah the fulfillment of his vain desires". Hazrat Abdullah bin Amr bin Al-Aas (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) said, "Four are the qualities which, when found in a person, make him a sheer hypocrite, and one who possesses one of them, possesses one characteristic of hypocrisy until he abandons it. These are: When he is entrusted with something, he betrays trust; when he speaks, he lies; when he promises, he acts treacherously; and when he argues, he behaves in a very imprudent, insulting manner.” [Al-Bukhari 01, Chapter 02, Hadith # 033].

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah[SAWW](PBUH) said, Hazrat Wabisah bin Mabad (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: I went to Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) and he asked me, "Have you come to inquire about piety?” I replied in the affirmative. Then he said, "Ask your heart regarding it. Piety is that which contents the soul and comforts the heart, and sin is that which causes doubts and perturbs the heart, even if people pronounce it lawful and give you verdicts on such matters again and again.” [Masnad Ahmad, Imam Ahmad Hadith # 228/4].

Hazrat Ibn Masud (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) said to me: "Recite the Qur’an to me". I said, "O Messenger of Allah! Shall I recite the Qur’an to you, when it has been revealed to you?” He [SAWW](PBUH) replied, "I love to hear it recited by others". So I recited to him a portion from Surat An-Nisa’. When I reached the Ayah: "How (will it be) then, when We bring from each nation a witness and We bring you (O Muhammad [SAWW](PBUH) as a witness against these people?". (4:41) He [SAWW](PBUH) said, "Enough for now". When I looked at him I saw his eyes were shedding tears. [Al-Bukhari Book 06, Chapter 60, Hadith # 106].

Hazrat Anas (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: There were two brothers in the days of the Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH). One of them used to attend the Prophet’s circle (to acquire knowledge) and the other used to earn their living). Once the latter complained to the Prophet [SAWW](PBUH) against the former (for not earning his living). He (PBUH) replied, "Perhaps you are being provided because of him".
