    Hadeeth of the day (OP)

As salaam alekum ( Peace be upon you)

Hadeeth means the words, actions, approval or attributes that have been narrated from the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).

    Narrated Muawiya bin Suwald:

I heard Al-Bara' bin 'Azib saying, "The Prophet (S.A.W) orders us to do seven things and prohibited us from doing seven other things." Then Al-Bara' mentioned the following:--

    (1) To pay a visit to the sick (inquiring about his health),

    (2) to follow funeral processions,

    (3) to say to a sneezer, "May Allah be merciful to you" (if he says, "Praise be to Allah!"),

    (4) to return greetings,

    (5) to help the oppressed,

    (6) to accept invitations,

    (7) to help others to fulfill their oaths.

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah[SAWW](PBUH) said, "Do not ask me unnecessarily about the details of the things which I do not mention to you. Verily, the people before you were doomed because they were used to putting many questions to their Prophets and had differences about their Prophets. Refrain from what I forbid you and do what I command you to the best of your ability and capacity". [Al-Bukhari Chapter # 92 Hadith # 391].

Bismillah Walhamdulillah Was Salaatu Was Salaam 'ala Rasulillah

    As-Salaam Alaikum Wa-Rahmatullahi Wa-Barakatuhu

    19th Rajab 1435 (18th May 2014)

Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Abdullah (Radi-Allahu 'anhu):

I saw 'Abdullah bin 'Umar crossing his legs while sitting in the prayer and
I, a mere youngster in those days, did the same. Ibn 'Umar forbade me to do
so, and said, "The proper way is to keep the right foot propped up and bend
the left in the prayer." I said questioningly, "But you are doing so
(crossing the legs)." He said, "My feet cannot bear my weight."

These are: "Allahumma al-himni rushdi, wa a’idhni min sharri nafsi (O Allah! Inspire in me guidance and deliver me from the evils within myself).” [At-Tirmidhi Hadith # 3483].

Hazrat Abu Said Al-Khudri (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) said, "How can I feel at ease when the Angel of the Trumpet, (Israfil) has put his lips to the Trumpet and is waiting for the order to blow it". He [SAWW](PBUH) perceived as if this had shocked his Companions, so he [SAWW](PBUH) told them to seek comfort through reciting: `Hasbunallah wa ni`mal-Wakil [Allah (Alone) is Sufficient for us, and He is the Best Disposer of affairs (for us)]". 23rd Rajab 1435 (22nd May 2014)

    Narrated 'Abdullah (Radi-Allahu 'anhu):

You should not give away a part of your prayer to Satan by thinking that it
is necessary to depart (after finishing the prayer) from one's right side
only; I have seen the Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) often leave
    from the left side.

Hazrat Al-Mughirah bin Shu’bah (May Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) said, "Musa (Moses) (PBUH) asked his Rubb: `Who amongst the inhabitants of Jannah will be the lowest in rank?’ He said: `It will be a person who will be admitted into Jannah last of all when all the dwellers of Jannah have entered Jannah. It will be said to him: Enter Jannah. But he will say: O my Rubb! How should I enter while the people have settled in their apartments and taken their shares? It will be said to him: Will you be satisfied and pleased if you have a kingdom like that of a monarch of the world? He will say: I will be content, my Rubb. Allah will say: For you is that, and like that and like that and like that and like that. He will say at the fifth time: I am well-pleased, my Rubb. Allah will say: It is for you and ten times more like it. You will have whatever your soul desires and whatever your eyes could delight in. He will say: I am well-pleased, my Rubb.’ Musa (PBUH) said: `Who will be of the highest rank in Jannah.’ Allah said: `They are those whom I chose and I established their honour with My Own Hand. I attest with My Seal that they will be blessed with such bounties as no eye has seen, no ear has heard and no human mind has perceived.” [Muslim Book 01, Chapter 83, Hadith # 363]

Reported by Abu Hurairah (RA): The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “When one of you sneezes, he should say ‘Alhamdulillah” (praise be to Allah), and his brother or his companion should say to him: ‘Yarhamuk- Allah (may Allah have mercy on you). When he says this he should reply: ‘Yahdikumullh was yuslihu balakum (may Allah guide you and render sound your state of affairs). [Bukhari - Riyad us Saliheen Chapter 142, 879]

Hazrat Abu Musa (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah[SAWW](PBUH) said, "The similitude of guidance and knowledge with which Allah has sent me is like a rain which has fallen on some ground. A fertile part of earth has absorbed water and brought forth much grass and herbs. Another part, which is solid, held the water and Allah benefits men thereby, who drank and gave others to drink, and used it for irrigation. But some of it has fallen on a portion of sandy land which neither retains the water nor produces herbage. Such is the likeness of the man who understands the religion of Allah and who gets benefit of what Allah has sent me with; he learns and teaches others. It is also the likeness of the man who neither raises his head on that account (meaning he does not benefit from what the Prophet [SAWW](PBUH) was sent with) nor accepts Allah’s Guidance with which I am sent". [Al-Bukhari Book 01, Chapter 03, Hadith # 079]

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah[SAWW](PBUH) said, "He who takes an oath and involuntarily says: `By Al-Lat and Al-`Uzza’ should at once affirm: `La ilaha illallah (there is no true god except Allah)’, and he who says to his companion: `Come let’s gamble’ should make expiation by giving something in charity.” [Al-Bukhari Hadith # 4860 and Muslim Hadith # 1647].
