    Hadeeth of the day (OP)

    As salaam alekum ( Peace be upon you)

    Hadeeth means the words, actions, approval or attributes that have been narrated from the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).

    Narrated Muawiya bin Suwald:

    I heard Al-Bara' bin 'Azib saying, "The Prophet (S.A.W) orders us to do seven things and prohibited us from doing seven other things." Then Al-Bara' mentioned the following:--

    (1) To pay a visit to the sick (inquiring about his health),

    (2) to follow funeral processions,

    (3) to say to a sneezer, "May Allah be merciful to you" (if he says, "Praise be to Allah!"),

    (4) to return greetings,

    (5) to help the oppressed,

    (6) to accept invitations,

    (7) to help others to fulfill their oaths.

    Reported by Abu Dharr (RA): The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “The deeds of my people, good and bad, were presented before me, and I found the removal of harmful objects from the road among their good deeds, and phlegm which might be in a mosque left unburied among their evil deeds”.

    Re: Hadeeth of the day

    Reported by Abu Hurairah (RA): Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, “Iman has sixty odd or seventy odd branches. The uppermost of all these is the Testimony of Faith: La ilaha illallah’ (there is no true god except Allah) while the least of them is the removal of harmful object from the road. And shyness is a branch of Iman.”

    Reported by Hakim bin Hizam (RA): Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: “Both parties in a business transaction have a right to annul it so long as they have not separated; and if they tell the truth and make everything clear to each other (i.e., the seller and the buyer speak the truth, the seller with regard to what is purchased, and the buyer with regard to the money) they will be blessed in their transaction, but if they conceal anything and lie, the blessing on their transaction will be eliminated.”

    Reported by Abu Dharr (RA): The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “In the morning, charity is due on every joint bone of the body of everyone of you. Every utterance of Allah’s glorification (i.e. saying Subhan Allah) is an act of charity, and every utterance of His praise is (saying Alhamdulillah) is an act of charity and every utterance of declaration of His Greatness (i.e. saying La ilaha illAllah) is an act of charity, and enjoining Ma’ruf (good) is an act of charity, and forbidding Munkar (evil) is an act of charity, and two Rak’ah Duha prayers which one performs in the forenoon is equal to all this (in reward).

    19th Shawwal 1435 (15th August 2014)

    Narrated Aisha (Radi-Allahu 'anha):

    A lady along with her two daughters came to me asking (for some alms), but
    she found nothing with me except one date which I gave to her and she
    divided it between her two daughters, and did not eat anything herself, and
    then she got up and went away. Then the Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa
    Sallam) came in and I informed him about this story.

    He said, "Whoever is

    put to trial by these daughters and he treats them generously (with
    benevolence) then these daughters will act as a shield for him from

    21st Shawwal 1435 (17th August 2014)

    Narrated 'Aisha (Radi-Allahu 'anha):

    Some of the wives of the Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) asked him,
    "Who amongst us will be the first to follow you (i.e. die after you)?" He
    said, "Whoever has the longest hand."

    So they started measuring their hands

    with a stick and Sauda's hand turned out to be the longest. (When Zainab
    bint Jahsh died first of all in the caliphate of 'Umar), we came to know
    that the long hand was a symbol of practicing charity, so she was the first
    to follow the Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) as she used to love to
    practice charity. (Sauda died later in the caliphate of Muawiya).

    22nd Shawwal 1435 (18th August 2014)

    Narrated Abu Huraira (Radi-Allahu 'anhu):

    The Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) said, "Seven people will be
    shaded by Allah under His shade on the day when there will be no shade
    except His. They are:

    (1) a just ruler;

    (2) a young man who has been brought up in the worship of Allah, (i.e.
    worship Allah (Alone) sincerely from his childhood),

    (3) a man whose heart is attached to the mosque (who offers the five
    compulsory congregational prayers in the mosque);

    (4) two persons who love each other only for Allah's sake and they meet and
    part in Allah's cause only;

    (5) a man who refuses the call of a charming woman of noble birth for an
    illegal sexual intercourse with her and says: I am afraid of Allah;

    (6) a person who practices charity so secretly that his left hand does not
    know what his right hand has given (i.e. nobody knows how much he has given
    in charity).

    (7) a person who remembers Allah in seclusion and his eyes get flooded with

    Reported by Abu Musa: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: “A believer to another believer is like a structure whose sections support one another.”

    Bismillah Walhamdulillah Was Salaatu Was Salaam 'ala Rasulillah

    As-Salaam Alaikum Wa-Rahmatullahi Wa-Barakatuhu

    23rd Shawwal 1435 (19th August 2014)

    Narrated 'Aisha (Radi-Allahu 'anha):

    Allah's Apostle (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) said, "When a woman gives in
    charity some of the foodstuff (which she has in her house) without spoiling
    it, she will receive the reward for what she has spent, and her husband
    will receive the reward because of his earning, and the storekeeper will
    also have a reward similar to it. The reward of one will not decrease the
    reward of the others."
