Jabir Ibn Abdullah, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless and greet him, said (relating what Jibreel, peace be upon him, said when he came to him):--
"....and know that sharaf (honour and nobility) of the believer lies in his qiyamul layl (standing in Tahajjud), and
his 'Izzah (dignified greatness) lies in being needless (and independent) from the people". [Al-Hakim, 3289/Tabarani, 4278].
The more you stand before Allah, Most High, in the silent depths of the nights....seeking His help and relying upon Him alone....the more we feel content and certain of being granted provision; the less we rely on people around us or worry about what they possess. Note this well.
May Allah, the Exalted and Glorified, grant us the ability to be offering the voluntary Night Prayers regularly.
