The filename of the image says imaginaryhiddentriangles so, I am reckoning that there are imaginary triangles. And there are 8 visible hexagons and each hexagon can have 6 acute angled triangles so there must be 48 triangles in total

look for the pizza slices that have been cut out, you have 6
then 3 in the middle
3 huge white ones, their points make the cut-out pizza slices
(well they look like pizzas to me!)
