Our Lord! Verily, we have heard the call of one calling to Faith: 'Believe in your Lord,' and we have believed.
Our Lord! Forgive us our sins and expiate from us our evil deeds, and make us die (in the state of righteousness) along with Al-Abrar
am sure that SST and SS close their eyes when they read becasue when the camera goes close to their face their eyes are close and you can see when they open their eyes then they quickly close their eyes again.
I've always seen then blink! *blinks*
lol
even Sheikh Sudais I have not seen close his eyes..
mst - maybe you just see them looking down (at the sujood place) and you think their eyes are shut?
I have defintely seen SAS close his eyes when reciting in traweeh 2001 he was praying Surah Rahman and the camera was right in front him (normal traweeh spot and close up) and he had his eyes closed and glasses off.

It helps some people to concentrate!

wa alaikum assalam wa rahmatullahi wa barakruh ..
oooooooorite 2001 ..
For some reason I thought you were talking about 2003
I agree with brother Abdullah, the Imams dont always close their eyes during Taraweeh. I've seen Sudais facing the Ka'abah and his eyes were closed on a number of occassions. Shuraim doesn't close his eyes, it seems so in the beginning but if you observe closely you'll see he's actually lookind down and so seems as if his eyes are closed. Occasionally he looks up and then down again.
They close their eyes if it helps them concentrate???? thats what i do, i mean it helps some ppl concentrate cuz maybe they can picture teh QUran when they are reciting, look at these videos, Sudais has his eyes closed in them and he is blinking too!
Shuraim has kids????????????? I didnt know that, Kool, INshallah i hope i can become freinds with them brother AS, can you tell Shuraim's kids to join LI? I mean do they use the internet the Imams???

He is married, so should i have kids. I heard one of his daughter is married with SAS, is it true?
hey? what do you mean?
Haram imams dont talk to sisters, so was just teasing zak, by calling him a sister
Shaykh Shuraims house is mashallah pretty big with a big garden etc. However, when you go inside it is very simple bits of furniture and some pretty nice things like lamps, rugs etc - we sat and ate on the floor which was really cool (proper sunnah style) and it was all very basic mashallah.
I did not meet any of his kids (I am sure he does have kids) as there was no one around when we went. As you can appreciate Saudi families are very private.
Obviously the imams do talk to women (for islamic advice etc) but they will only talk to them out of necessity - the Saudis are very strict and except all women to wear Hijaab (full covering the face). That does not mean they wont talk to women - just no idle chit chat - the way it should be!
