"O Muslims! If anyone among you worshipped Ramadan, then know that Ramadan is dead. But those of you who worshipped Allah, then know that Allah lives and will never die. Indeed Allah created Ramadan and He also, in truth, created Shawaal, Dhul Qidah, Dhul Hijjah, and all the rest of the Months..."

Despite being obviously white british, I have on more than one occassion been confused for a Pakistani, probably because that's where all my coworkers are from.
I thought I might as well swap a letter as a joke and see how many customers we could convince.
I had Isa Abdullah which is also my Muslim name, I chose it because that is the most important thing I have discovered in my life. A thing which has changed my life around and something which amazes me, I was going to chose other names like Khalid or Usama but there is hardly anyone I love more than Eesa son of Mary, I wish my mom was named Mary, now that'd be cool.
As for al Habeshi, I just am from the people of Habash/Habesh.
The path is long but I hope we meet,
After the grave and the Day, in paradise in bliss upon a reclined seat.
A traveler traveling - travelled from shirk to tawheed,
If I'm remembered for anything - let it be the Mercy I seek.

Umm... This thread brought some déjà vu feelings.. I must have answered before.
Well, I chose Al-Zaara because I admire Fatima radiAllahu anha very much, mashaAllah she was amazing, and this is why I chose Al-Zaara, because it was her nickname. It means "the radiant/illuminated one" or "lady of light".
Similiary, my real name means halo/circle of light, so I found it suited me well.
