Basics of Belief Oneness of Allah, Prophecy, Freewill & Predestination.

Three basic beliefs will be discussed in this course: Belief in Allah, Belief in Prophethood of our Beloved Messenger s.a.w, and Freewill and Predestination. The concept of Prophecy will be explored by reading and discussing some chapters from Qadhi Ayyaz’s book al-Shifa.
The concept of destiny will also be explored. If Allah Ta’ala already knows everything and has written it down, how are we free to act? And if we are not free to act, why should we be punished for our sins? Why should we even strive or make an effort when Allah Ta’ala has already written down our fates? Why is there evil in the world?

SPEAKER’S PROFILE:
Alimah M. Farooqi was born and raised in Lahore and received her B.A. with Honors in Humanities major, from the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS). She began her pursuit of Classical Islamic Learning at Zaynab Academy studying Quran, Tafsir, Hadith, Fiqh, Usul al-Fiqh, and Arabic under traditional scholars. She completed the entire Dars-e-Nizami course. Since the past three years, she has been teaching different subjects, including Qur’an, Hadith, Arabic & others, at Zaynab Academy. She also delivers talks on purification of the heart & drawing closer to Allah (swt). She is currently the Coordinator and Core Instructor for the Foundations Program at ZAO.
