well, this is the modern age (or dajjal age as what i believe). the ways to commit sins have become easy through tv, internet, etc and temptations are everywhere like bank interest, alcohol, gorgeous girls in malls, handsome men at college, etc.
hope if we remember the following points, we can control our desires (nafs) and not give to temptations inshallah.
1. i need Allah's pleasure or displeasure?
2. i want garden in grave or being beaten?
3. i want shade of Allah on Judgment Day or sweat in its hotness, drink from prophet (peace be upon him)'s pond or remain thirsty?
4. i want jannah and its enjoyment or fire and its boiling water?
5. what if someone sees me doing it or someone from my family do it?
6. making duas to Allah to remove the inclination towards it and feel guilty.
PS: easy said than done but Allah is capable to do all the things.
The Prophet (sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam) said: "All of a human being's words count against him and not for him, except commanding the right, forbidding the wrong, and the mention of Allah Most High." [Tirmidhi]
